The 2014 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pretty sure Bauer is going through a confidence crisis at the moment. Will take over a year to fix, if it all.

Problem is Bauer can't control his pitches.. In which case he's useless to a big league club... Arizona knew this..

You're simply not going to get a high level pitching prospect for that little of return-- no way unless somebody pans out with some luck... Bauer was a big time name for awhile now and was obtainable...

Bauer is going to be all or nothing, frankly. He either finds his command and becomes a top-level starter or he ends up as AAA fodder. The thing with his command is it wasn't an issue in college- so I hold out hope that he eventually figures this out.

For our sake Bauer better turn out. With the possible and probable loss of Masterson no way could we replace him In FA. Bauer and Salazar both need to pan out if we have any shot of a good starting pitching rotation. Trades can happen but the only piece we have that could nab a us a young stud pitcher Is Masterson or maybe Chiz. We also have ammo In the minors for a proven starting pitcher even assuming Lindor is untouchable. So lets pray Bauer gets his act together.

I have little doubt Bauer has confidence, he just doesn't have consistent control. It's really that simple, until it changes he'll be who he is.

That's not why Arizona traded him. They would have kept him if he fit the mold of their GM not wanting any player that has a personality. His outdated, old school mentality on baseball is exactly that. Outdated.

After that disastrous spring start he had, he did a lot better in the couple of minor league games he pitched in.

shrewd move by the Indians <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Source: <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Indians&amp;src=hash">#Indians</a>, Yan Gomes agree to six-year, $23M contract with two club options.</p>&mdash; Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) <a href="https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/statuses/450057374020435968">March 29, 2014</a></blockquote>

Wow, pretty significant risk. Will be a bargain if last year wasn't a fluke.

It's really just a 1 year extension off his arbitration years, but as long as he doesn't flame out completely, it's a bargain.

There's no doubt his average is going to take a hit (.340 BABIP last year). With more experience one would hope he is able to cut down on his strikeouts and improve his walk rate, which would make up for the fall in average. The power seems to be legit

Your 2014 Spring Training Champions! The Cleveland Indians!!

Ok, but seriously, it's only Spring Training, but it's nice to have more wins than anyone else.

Some people picked us to win the division.

Picking them to win the World Series is going waaaaaay out on a limb, that isn't the only way to show respect.
