The 2015 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tomlin is who he is.

I was banking on Salazar to bounce back right from the jump. Guess he really blows in ST.

They're really going to put Tomlin in the rotation again, aren't they?

Tomlin and McAllister have both pitched well.

Watched Salazar yesterday, he just has such inconsistent command of his fastball right now that he can't win at this level.

Not sure he'll ever be the guy everyone knows he can become.

I still feel it's far too early in Salazar's career to start wondering if the light ever goes fully on for him. Look no futher than Carrasco's coming to Jesus moment last season at age 27.

Won't need a 5th starter until 21st though I don't think
Yea, I had just read something about that after I made my post. Hopefully they're doing it just so he can get multiple starts in down in the minors and not just sit around.

McAlister I wouldn't be too against, as he does have good enough stuff to get guys out consistently, and I'd be more inclined to say last year was an anomaly compared to 2013 for him.

If Tomlin didn't have that flukey start to 2011 I highly doubt he'd even be in consideration for a major league spot in any capacity.

To me it seems like they're playing it safe, when I think they're the type of team who should be taking more risks by playing higher upside guys who might be more likely to get lit up. Everyone loves to talk about Mickey Callaway being a great pitching coach (which he is) and how helpful he is. To me, it seems like it would be better for his development to be around Callaway as opposed to Triple A coaches.

McAllister is out of options so my guess is that they would send down Tomlin and keep him as a long reliever until then. Not sure if House as an option left or if they would keep him as a reliever if he did anyways.

I might be in the minority on Tomlin vs. McAllister.

I think Z-Mac's game is so well suited for the bullpen, simply because he has trouble commanding his offspeed stuff over the course of a game.

Shortening him up adds a bit to his fastball and allows him to work off it better than he does in the rotation, it also made his off-speed better.

Tomlin is just a guy who knows how to get outs, smart guy with fringy average stuff but you know what you're getting every fifth day.

Great point. Salazar will be getting regular starts and hopefully he does good to get called back.

I think the Tribe values House enough to pitch him regularly due to being our only lefty and all so that leaves Salazar as the 5th guy.

Really hope he finds it because we have an advantage with him facing off other 5th starters.

Jesus, I like him very much.

He no help with fastball command.

I'm there with ya on this. Considering we don't really need a 5th starter until later anyway, Tomlin fits perfectly. Mac was tremendous in the pen last year. He can give us 3 or 4 STRONG innings each time when needed.

McAllister starts the home opener, House gets the fifth spot.

Swarzak makes the team, Tomlin to AAA

Bauer could have a Cy Young caliber season, honestly.

Any of that top three could given stuff they've got. It's all going to rely upon how consistently they command it.
