The 2016 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Proud to say I watched two and a half quarters of yesterday's game and turned that shit right off after the Erving snap and following Eagles score.

I generally watch until it becomes clear the product isn't entertaining.

Last year I think I watched 7 games which is par for the course.

I'm jusr not going to watch the 29-10 losses. I watched when Hoyer was good. I watched when DA was good.

I could give a shit less about being called a front runner. After 20 years of being fed a shit product, I'm entitled to watch this team when they have this shit together and ignore them when they don't.

I watched the whole thing. I always watch until the other team is kneeling out the clock. But I need the suffering, something to be bitter about. After the Cavs won the title, I had no complaints, and I was lost. The Browns are restoring my faith in Cleveland sports.

I would watch your videos if you went into elpresador mode.

I’m not really ’addicted’ per se... I’ve been watching the Browns my entire life, and since I was too young to really be cognizant of the early ‘90s teams, I only actually started “following” them post-’99.

Because of how poorly they’ve done in that timeframe, I’ve never been obsessive about it like I am basketball, and to a slightly lesser extent baseball. I watch every Browns game, but only for pure entertainment value. I never have high expectations, and I treat every Sunday afternoon like I’m sitting down to watch a bad movie that’s been panned by all the critics...one where you’re pleasantly surprised if it actually ends up being good that day.

But that’s where my investment ends, and after the game is over I go about the rest of my day, and it has close to zero impact on me emotionally. All the shit that goes on with this team is par for the course and doesn’t phase me much.

... now that I reflect on it...having such a ‘passive’ fanhood in regards to this team is actually kinda nice.

Came in here to say sort of the same thing. I've got to pull away, because it's a waste of time and emotion at this point to be the fanatic Browns fan I have been since I can remember.

I've loved to Browns, but they've never loved me back. I will support them and always be loyal to them, but I'm not entrenching myself into knowing the ins and outs of a team that takes the hope out of a season 20 minutes into week one.

Disheartening knowing how much we all love this team and they can't do anything right on any level of the franchise.

If the Browns ever got their shit together, the city would explode.

I do wish we weren't in a division with Baltimore and Pittsburgh because almost every year we are responsible for them having 2 free wins and I unhealthily hate both of those teams more than anything

They took the hope out of the season 20 minutes into free agency.

This is generally how I feel about them, except I'll be honest, the dysfunction does still "get to me." I do get upset about it. But I don't really get mad after the losses, in fact I find them funny. Somehow every April I find myself hopeful, but the same product is thrown onto the field every September. Clockwork.

Thing is, we all knew they were rebuilding AGAIN and would suck AGAIN. So I don't see why anyone should be freaking out right now or calling for Hue's head after one game. There's a plan in place. For once, let's let them execute it. Give these guys 3+ years. Hell, give them 5. What do we have to lose? That's literally the one thing we haven't tried in over a decade, is letting a regime execute their plan over the course of 5 years. Let's give it a whirl, especially since you aren't bringing anybody with any more credibility than the guys we have right now. Might as well give them a chance and see what happens. Might be pleasantly surprised. But it's gonna take time, and a lot of willpower from the Haslams to not hit the "ABORT!" button after the 1-15 season we're in for right now, or 4-12 next year.

If you feel like going to the Browns game Sunday, sell your ticket, buy a Tribe ticket and pocket the remaining money. Support the winners, not the Haslam led freak show.

The Browns game is a good excuse to mow the lawn, clean the house, exercise, etc, while listening on the radio or in the background. It's fine to keep an eye on the game, but for the love of God do something productive or you have just wasted 3 hours.

I've stopped paying close attention around the time they hired Mangini. Have not missed anything the last 7 years. I'll be nobody's fool.

Then again...here I am posting on a goddamn Browns message board.

How do you even call yourself mr orange...

No matter how bad the Browns do and how good the Indians do I will ALWAYS support the Browns over the Indians

I believe this was the type of admission @BimboColesHair was looking for in the tribe section:chuckle:

But I've got no problem admitting it. I'm a Browns fan first and foremost. I wish I could just turn on the switch to apathy but I can't

All I can add is that I have a brother in law who was born in Pittspuke, so he is a legit fan and not a bandwagoner. But he is such a di ck about the Pig Fu ckers vs the Browns... he brings shit up everytime I see him (as is his right). And I got nothing to throw back at him. Nothing.

It really, really sucks, and then when the Browns go ahead and shit the bed again for another season.... man, it sucks.

Remind him that Pittsburgh is the capital of Appalachia, and that he is cheering for an actual rapist. Like, he forced a girl to have sex with him in a toilet.

Seriously just say "Your QB raped a girl. Rape. And you are ok with that. Likely because you were born in the capital of Appalachia. We may be 0-16, but we aren't cheering for an actual rapist each Sunday."

There's a plan in place.

Every regime that has come through here has had a plan in place.

As far as I'm concerned they have one more year to get it right, and "getting it right" means figuring out who the long-term answer at QB is. They're already in the process of wasting one year. If they waste another year losing 11, 12 or 13 games without an answer at QB they can go right out the door with every other failed regime. Quit trading down, quit trying to be the smartest guys in the room, quit trying to re-invent the wheel and find. A fucking. Quarterback.
