How's that working out? I guess so far, the opposition coach have been telling their players NOT to block out Drummond?

4 out of 24 games Drummond has had 4 or more shooting fouls or 8 + FTA a game

3 of those 4 are his only 20 + point games.

his highest point production for the other 20 games is 19.

8 out of 24 games Drummond has went to the line 0 times.

in those games he is averaging 9.75 PPG and 9.87 RPG.

Thx info. But the kid is still averaging 13.5 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.7 steals, shooting 62% from the field and 41% from the foul line. Btw, he's only averaging 33 minutes per game and is barely 20 years old. This "bench role player" of yours is not suppose to be starting let alone have a chance of making the all-star game this year. Put your money where you mouth is buddy. "Role players" don't make all-star games.

Btw, in Detroit's 11 wins so far, 5.6 free throw attempts and in their 13 losses, he's averaging 2.0 free throw attempts. Hack-a-drummond anyone?

I don't think he'll be an all-star this year.

I mentioned Drummond's performance, or lack thereof, in clutch time earlier, but I tuned in for overtime of Detroit's game tonight and was momentarily worried that I misspoke, as he split a pair of free throws and then scored again on a tip in a few possessions later.

But no, it turns out this was an anomaly. Those three points actually DOUBLED his season total in clutch time. He's now shooting 2/6 from the field and 2/4 from the line. Detroit shamelessly benched him for the last 40 seconds of regulation and the last 30 seconds of OT. How 'bout that? Pundits are already calling him an All-Star and he can't even get on the court for the fucking Pistons with the game on the line!

Still a lot of potential, but still a serious liability in many ways at this point in his career.

putting him in the all star game really isn't that ridiculous.

with a 12 man roster, there will be 7-8 frontcourt players. lebron, george, melo, and hibbert are all locks. the remaining 3-4 will likely come from: lopez, bosh, millsap, horford, drummond.

he absolutely deserves to be in that group of players. whether or not he actually makes it depends on how things go in the meantime, but as of now he is very much in the discussion.

also, a team benches a guy who can't shoot free throws at the end of games - how shocking!

42 seconds left in regulation, Pistons lead by 3, Blazers' ball. There's no reason to sub him out simply because he's a bad foul shooter there.

30 seconds left in regulation, tie game, Pistons' ball. Again, no reason to sub him out because he's a bad foul shooter. Blazers aren't going to hack him in a tie game.

11 seconds left in regulation, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter in this situation.

31 seconds left in overtime, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter.

24 seconds left in overtime, Blazers lead by 2, Pistons' ball. This is the one point where you could say *maybe* it would make sense to sub out a bad foul shooter. But remember that an away from the ball foul on Drummond wouldn't put him on the line, so he could safely be used as an offensive rebounding threat here.

13 seconds left in overtime, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter.

My feeling with drummond is he has huge potential but i just think hes prone to doing really stupid things on the basketball court, seems like the pistons agree

You're assessment of the entire situation is complete BS. That whole sequence of events with Drummond subbing in and out is the result of Portland subbing Mo Williams in for Robin Lopez and Detroit was trying to match up. The only part in question was at the 30 second mark where the game was tied and Detroit had the ball. The haters will say Drummond was subbed out to prevent Portland from fouling him. But the game was tied and no coach would intentionally foul the other team's worst free throw shooter and hope that he misses two foul shots lol. Detroit subbed in Billups to space the floor and offer and give them a another shooter on the floor.

In OT, Drummond played the entire way except at the 31 second mark when Portland subbed out Lopez to bring in Mo Williams for offense. Detroit subbed out Drummond to match up. At the 24 second mark, Lopez was subbed in again and Detroit put back Drummond to box him out if Lillard missed the free throw. Now Detroit was down 2 and needed and they did the same thing in regulation. Brought Billups in to space the floor and it worked. Stuckey tied the game.

All of Drummonds substitution late in the game COINCIDED with Robin Lopez being subbed in and out. Nice attempt at trying to fool everyone into thinking Portland was going to employ a hack-a-drummond tactic and Detroit was being pro-active. It had nothing to do with that. Nice try though.

Is this thread the portal to the dark net?

I never realized there was over a hundred pages for a guy who is averaging 12 points and 12 rebounds a game who doesn't play for the Cavs.

Jennings, Monroe and Smith are looking like a good core trio

Cause there are plenty of people clearly in denial :chuckles:
