The best strategy is the same used on blake griffin. put a body on him and ignore him for the most part.
How's that working out? I guess so far, the opposition coach have been telling their players NOT to block out Drummond?
4 out of 24 games Drummond has had 4 or more shooting fouls or 8 + FTA a game
3 of those 4 are his only 20 + point games.
his highest point production for the other 20 games is 19.
8 out of 24 games Drummond has went to the line 0 times.
in those games he is averaging 9.75 PPG and 9.87 RPG.
Thx info. But the kid is still averaging 13.5 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.7 steals, shooting 62% from the field and 41% from the foul line. Btw, he's only averaging 33 minutes per game and is barely 20 years old. This "bench role player" of yours is not suppose to be starting let alone have a chance of making the all-star game this year. Put your money where you mouth is buddy. "Role players" don't make all-star games.
I don't think he'll be an all-star this year.
putting him in the all star game really isn't that ridiculous.I mentioned Drummond's performance, or lack thereof, in clutch time earlier, but I tuned in for overtime of Detroit's game tonight and was momentarily worried that I misspoke, as he split a pair of free throws and then scored again on a tip in a few possessions later.
But no, it turns out this was an anomaly. Those three points actually DOUBLED his season total in clutch time. He's now shooting 2/6 from the field and 2/4 from the line. Detroit shamelessly benched him for the last 40 seconds of regulation and the last 30 seconds of OT. How 'bout that? Pundits are already calling him an All-Star and he can't even get on the court for the fucking Pistons with the game on the line!
Still a lot of potential, but still a serious liability in many ways at this point in his career.

with a 12 man roster, there will be 7-8 frontcourt players. lebron, george, melo, and hibbert are all locks. the remaining 3-4 will likely come from: lopez, bosh, millsap, horford, drummond.
he absolutely deserves to be in that group of players. whether or not he actually makes it depends on how things go in the meantime, but as of now he is very much in the discussion.
also, a team benches a guy who can't shoot free throws at the end of games - how shocking!
42 seconds left in regulation, Pistons lead by 3, Blazers' ball. There's no reason to sub him out simply because he's a bad foul shooter there.
30 seconds left in regulation, tie game, Pistons' ball. Again, no reason to sub him out because he's a bad foul shooter. Blazers aren't going to hack him in a tie game.
11 seconds left in regulation, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter in this situation.
31 seconds left in overtime, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter.
24 seconds left in overtime, Blazers lead by 2, Pistons' ball. This is the one point where you could say *maybe* it would make sense to sub out a bad foul shooter. But remember that an away from the ball foul on Drummond wouldn't put him on the line, so he could safely be used as an offensive rebounding threat here.
13 seconds left in overtime, tie game, Blazers' ball. Again, no reason to sub out a bad foul shooter.
Is this thread the portal to the dark net?
I never realized there was over a hundred pages for a guy who is averaging 12 points and 12 rebounds a game who doesn't play for the Cavs.
Jennings, Monroe and Smith are looking like a good core trio
