The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Really? It is right up there with the lets play Hoyer until we are out of contention. My take is if we play Hoyer we are already out of contention so why not see what Manziel has at worst you have the same 7-9 record. At best you steal a few games.

Really.

Assuming a five game losing streak because Manziel isn't starting isn't even worthy of a response, quite honestly.

Hoyer could have a nice next 6-8 years as the hometown backup, make some good money and be able to walk and play with his kids. This is the Charlie Batch model. Not a bad gig at all. His ego and greed probably won't allow it though. He is going to get $3MM this year. A good payday for him. If a middling team like Tenn or Hou will give him starters money though, he should take it. Franchise tag....haha.

I know there are a lot of teams desperate for quarterbacks, but I really don't think he'll get starters money anymore.

I'm sure his agent will spin it that he played so well until Mack went down, and even after that he kept the team together and still kept winning, but I think he'll ultimately get offers in the 2 years 10-12 mil total compensation range that guys like Fitzpatrick, Henne, McCown, and Orton are in. (I would be fine offering him this much, but you have to see how he acts the next 4 weeks. If he keeps pouting then you have to move on.) I think this was part of the reason he was so salty after getting pulled yesterday, because he knew the $$$ was going out the window.

He may actually be lucky that he's getting pulled now so he can't continue to put up bad tape.

If Hoyer is getting benched for the rest of his contract year, it will cost him several millions of dollars in the last contract he will sign in his athletic prime. He isn't bashing anyone in the press. He was visibly disappointed. Sounds pretty human to me.

Hoyer looking pissed when Manziel scored really pissed me off. I'm not the biggest Johnny fan, but this is the team you are on.. Root for your teammates. Stop being a sour bitch.
If someone ripped up an 8 million dollar winning lottery ticket in front of your face, would you be able to conjure up a smile?

Dude just lost his job to a rookie and in the process, millions upon millions of free agent dollars.

He will also likely be relocating his family in the coming year as a result.

They also lost the game and are now likely to miss the playoffs.

What's not to like, Hoyer?! Smile, damn it!

I don't blame him for acting that way in the present. He could be kicking himself or his agent for turning down a big contract that was offered during the season.

If he wants to salvage his chance to make 5-6 mil over the next couple of years though, he better start playing the role of humble veteran backup quickly.

This to pisses me off. His face revealed a little bit of jealousy. I don't think Hoyer is a class act teammate.

At least Manziel showed signs of happiness and being proud of Hoyer when he excelled..

Both Hoyer and Masterson messed up. Kipnis laughing all the way to the bank.

Hoyer has been the best Browns QB for a long time... I'm not even saying it as an argument to keep him in. I'm just saying it because I fear we'll be back to business as usual without him. QBs running for their lives, fumbles, pics at inopportune times and the worst.... no scoring. Yeah, Hoyer's been doing all of these things lately. Well, he's also helped the Browns win a few.

Yeah, Hoyer needs to take a page out of Manziel's book on sideline etiquette/what it takes to be a true teammate...

Amirite?

And what is Team Jacob's response to this most recent slight?

Oh right, we're talking about Manziel & Hoyer.
