The Cavs vs Bulls Series

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So someone tell me when game 1 of this series is? We know it's gonna be a 4 game sweep for both of us this round...

To be honest, I thought this 3/6 series would be hard fought with a Bulls win but its a damn shame it looks like the sweep is in the mix for that series as well.

The Bucks aren't the Cavs but I don't want the Bulls resting as much as the Cavs. If tonight's contest with Boston is any measure, it's going to be a highly emotional and beat them up style series with Chicago.

Let's put it this way...it took the Bulls a double overtime game to score ten more points than we scored in a regulation game tonight. Their defense is nowhere near the elite level it was two years ago. Can they legitimately outscore us over a seven game series?

Because they'll have to if they want to beat us.

One of the dumbest things I've heard. The series is over cause the bulls are up 3-0 but not in the way you like.

Rose's jumper really seems to be the difference for him. He looked like his explosive self game 1 but in game 2/3 it's all on the jumper. Jumper didn't look great in game 2 and it was on in game 3.

Not sure what the Bulls are going to do against the Cavs offense: they Bucks with MCW just don't have a lot of spacing. Comparatively, the Cavs should be be better prepared having to guard the super quick Isiah Thomas and Steven's offensive coaching.

What are you talking about? My point is that the Bulls are a mediocre to bad offensive team and no longer an elite defensive team. They won't beat us without one or the other, and preferably both.

Rose will never win a ring. I'll be shocked if his knee survives the playoffs, let alone another season. I fucking hate the Bulls. Worst/stupidest fans I've ever met. If Michigan fans mated with Miami fans, you'd have Bulls fans.

The Celtics had a 2.6 net rating since the all star break, and the bucks had -1.8. Our net rating in the playoffs is 11.4, the Bulls net rating in the playoffs is 9.2. What this basically means is that we outmatch a better team than the team the Bulls have to deal with by a larger marging. So according to this data we shoud outscore the Bulls by 6.6 points per 100 possessions.

I respectfully disagree. The talk about the offense was valid for seasons past, not this year. Don't forget, the regular season numbers are also diminished by that awful time they ran a strictly iso offense back in very late December/January + times where key players were out with injury. The Bulls will have no problem scoring against the Cavs, the true test will be the defense. They will need stops, they cannot win a shootout against you guys.

Isn't the jump-shot the key to a lot of players' success? You cannot strictly rely on attacking the paint, you will need the defense to respect your outside shot to open up those lanes for you. He's been hitting his shots though. He had a rough 1st half against Milwaukee in game 2, but found other ways to contribute and later found his shot in the 2nd half. He's playing well, but if he doesn't hit his outside shots, where will the room to drive be for him? Before the knee injury he had a deadly mid-range shot and an okay 3 point shot. He cannot drive to the basket and only drive to the basket, there is going to have to be a mixture.

Hey another Bulls fan. I am looking forward to this series. Goddamn May 2nd is the earliest it starts. At least Niko will have time to heal. History has told us that you must get your bumps before you prosper and lord knows no team has faced the kinds of bumps the Bulls have since playoffs of 2012 (suffering of fans doesn't count. Trust me. I am a Cubs fan).

The bolded is false. Net ratings are not generally predictive in this way.

Obviously nothing is really predictive. No one can know the future, but why do you think net rating is particularly not a good indicator?

Basically what I'm pinning my hopes on. The Cavs players may just not have been beaten up enough in deep playoff runs to want it bad enough. Maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into it to help the Bulls' chances, I don't know. Still think the Cavs' take it based on their talent, but I have hope that the Bulls might pull off the upset.
