You can't prepare. He was 13, I knew it was coming sooner rather than later. Then this week he just stopped eating and became overly loving. It's like he was saying goodbye in his own way. Then today he lost all his bodily functions and I could see in his eyes it was time. 13 years Winston slept in my bed next to my hip. Tonight will be the hardest test for me without him.

We signed up for something that just loves, does not judge you and wants nothing more than to be by your side. 13 years of Winston with me is well worth the sadness. Soon I will have the good times just flowing through me and not his last moments. 99.99% of his life was nothing but a joy.

Yeah he had a great life. Tons of little kids to play with when he was young. He loved everybody. My little brother is going to be upset though. He is on a sub for 6 months with the navy, and we are able to email him, but we can't tell him bad news because it can effect his job. He loved winston just as much as me. That is going to be a rough day when he gets back.
