I have never been one to push playing time for Luke Jackson. To me he wasn't a natural guy to play off the ball and be a scorer/shooter. Luke looks more comfortable with a little more responsibility. However early in the season with Larry, LeBron and Ilgauskas, Lukes role was to play off the ball and shoot. He didn't really prove that he can play in this vein. This is why I preached Sasha Pavlovic for this role. Sasha was a guy who was more accustomed and to me more effective at this role.
As we all know now, Larry is injured and his skillset has not been replaced in any facet by Jones. Larry could handle the ball, and score in different fashions, as well as distribute. Does this sound a little like a scouting report of Luke Jackson when we drafted him? The Cavaliers are looking for another on ball player with Larry out, something which Luke was very successful at in Oregon.
The roles have changed for Jackson, and this time it should suit his game. Coach Brown should be working him into the rotation. It will decrease the load on LeBron which has to be a plus.
