The Future of the Indians (VERY LONG)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This organization is a joke as long as Dolan is running it.

My Prediction:
1. We'll make a good run and come up short in the next 2-4 years.
2. He'll trade away all the good players for top prospects again.
3. We'll do it all over again and again as long as he is the owner.

We're not going to get an owner in here who will do anything different than what Dolan is doing. It just isn't going to happen. It definitely won't happen as long as attendance stays where it is.

Unless of course Mr. Gilbert buys the Indians. Buy low. I can't imagine the value can be any lower than it is right now. Go for it Dan! :)

i just want a winning record. Is that to much to ask for?

Dan Gilbert has enough on his plate. He hasn't brought a championship here yet with the Cavaliers. That's his task. Not to bail out the Indians.

Not a bail out at all. According to Wine and Gold, Gilbert's passion and goal is to own a MLB team. He envisions owning the Indians and STO and the Cavs, combining all advertising and profits in order to make more profits.

Now waaaaait a minute, I don't remember W&G saying that Gilbert has expressed interest in owning the Indians, STO along with the Cavs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's going into some uncharted territory there. W&G is an insider but we should be careful when passing on his knowledge that the truth doesn't get distorted.

I understand Dan Gilbert wants to purchase a baseball team. I know he attempted to purchase the Milwaukee Brewers a few years ago. But I'd rather he kept his eye on the ball. If he brings the Larry O'Brien to Cleveland he can buy the damned Terminal Tower for all I care. Until then, I'd prefer he kept his focus on the team he already owns.

He wrote just that in here recently. I believe it was yesterday, but I cannot find it right now. I guess you or I can simply view his recent posts. :)

Just so my paraphrasing on what he wrote isn't misunderstood, here is exactly what he wrote:

Why the crap did we trade Victor, BTW you forgot SS Joason Donald

Looks like he said he would not be surprised if Gilbert expresses interest in the Indians at some point.

From Redsox fans about masterson

But I am CRAZY about Justin Masterson. I can't even say his pitching is where I want it to be. He's got a lot a maturing to do in his game. But as for his potential, his *personal* maturity and self-assurance, which is remarkable for someone his age, and his positive attitude and personability...I saw him as someone who was really going to grow into a leadership role in our clubhouse, and I felt that his balanced perspective would help him to accept constructive criticism and suggestions from the pitching staff and our veteran pitchers and catcher, to help sharpen his pitching.

Cleveland just got a very fine young man.
he was a good pitcher, who accepted whatever role we gave him, whether it be starting for injured dice-k,or coming in the 7th or 8th innings. I hope cleveland uses him as a starter
I am very sad to see Justin go. He was a favorite of mine. I loved his sense of humor, his poise, his maturity, and his intelligence (not to mention that sinker). He seemed so genuinely nice. I am sure he is going to have a great career. Good luck in Cleveland, "Bat" (as my husband always called him).
I'm sorry to see Masterson go as well. A young guy with a great attitude and a lot of potential, but he was likely the key to the trade- and you have to give up something to get something, and Martinez is a very fine ballplayer and the hitter we needed. But losing him makes the bullpen weaker. He was the only 'long man' we had out there.
