I'm so glad this will be finalized tomorrow and excited about the trade. But just looking at this as objectively as I can- the Wolves are getting quite the haul in this deal. I don't believe any team, ever, has received such talent in return for a star that is leaving. Good for them I suppose.

Glad the trade is finally happening, but the inclusion of the Miami pick seems odd. Why do we need to add that? The value in the trade is Wiggins and Bennett. Unless we are getting something for someone for that pick, it seems like it will be ammunition for the critics of the trade.

Agreed. Not trying to be a kill joy but I don't like that part either. If we are including the Miami pick we should definitely be getting something else back IMO.

I think the reality is if Lebron wants Love, Griff isn't going to risk the trade falling apart over a 1st round pick they are demanding or additional piece from Minny we want. He probably figures for his own job security if nothing else he is better off just getting the deal done and keeping LBJ happy.

I don't like trading the Miami pick (and the Memphis pick would be worse), but that's what happened once the Cavs traded their 2016 pick as part of the Jack/Zeller/deal. If they had traded their own 2015 or 2017 pick in that deal, maybe they would have had some more options in this deal. Yes, still a little bitter on that.

On the plus side it looks like we won't have to scoreboard-watch every Heat game all season long. That is a HUGE plus.

Still have 3 huge trade pieces to use in the next 1-12 months:

The Grizz pick(most valuable pick off all the acquired picks we've had over the past couple of years)

Haywood's contract

Jazz unguaranteed deals + Kirk

Plus our own 2015, 2017, and 2018 first rounders. Hardly a bare cupboard for continued moves.

Too little, too late? Seems like it's more about Phoenix not knowing what to do, more than anything else.

Suns make late Kevin Love pitch

With just hours to go before a planned megadeal the would send Kevin Love to Cleveland, the Phoenix Suns reached out to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday to ask once more about the possibility of acquiring Love in a sign-and-trade for guard Eric Bledsoe, sources told ESPN.com.

The Cavaliers and Wolves have had an agreement in place on Love for weeks and it remains intact, sources said. That trade, which morphed into a three-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers that will send Thaddeus Young to Minnesota, is expected to be completed on Saturday.

Talks between the Suns and Bledsoe, who is a restricted free agent, have been fractured for weeks and the team is now vetting all options. That includes other sign-and-trade talks with other teams besides the Wolves.

Bledsoe has made it clear he is seeking a five-year, $85 million maximum contract from the Suns. He would only consider a max deal in a sign-and-trade, which would be four years and $64 million, with any other team, sources said.

If Bledsoe, who has remained firm in his salary position all summer, does not get a max deal this summer, he intends to sign the Suns' one-year qualifying offer for $3.7 million and become an unrestricted free agent next year.

The Suns have offered Bledsoe a four-year, $48 million deal that is similar to the contract point guard Kyle Lowry signed with the Toronto Raptors this summer. Bledsoe rejected that offer and the sides haven't made any progress in talks for weeks.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points and 5.5 assists in 43 games, 40 of them starts, for the Suns last season. He missed 39 games because of a knee injury that required surgery.

I seriously doubt this affects anything, but maybe Minny is trying to squeeze the last drop of blood out of this rock before it becomes official.

Edit: A couple seconds too slow. Damn you, Wuck! :chuckle:

I'm guessing Rich Paul values his existence and wouldn't allow the wishes of his friend and best client to be dashed :chuckle:

The Cavs offer is only like.... a million times better. Imagine the revolt in Minny from the fans if they accepted Bledsoe over AW & AB...

Nothing to see here. ESPN click bait. Move along.

They wouldn't, that's why it reads Suns make last minute late pitch. There literally is nothing to see here, and there's no way Minny is getting more out of us.

They are lucky to be getting what they are to begin with.

Bledsoe for Love straight up.....Come on now....that would never get it done. Tomorrow/tonight appears to be the day.

T Wolves like Bledsoe but not at a MAX deal 9 months before Rubio's deal needs to get done. And yeah, certainly not in place of our offer.
