Nobody should freak out. Before any potential trade or blockbuster there always seems to be a report that the thing might become complicated or called off.

Remember the dreaded Lebron/ Riley meeting before Decision 2.0?

They wouldn't, that's why it reads Suns make last minute late pitch. There literally is nothing to see here, and there's no way Minny is getting more out of us.

They are lucky to be getting what they are to begin with.

Precisely

So many people (not just here, but on Twitter) jumped on the headline. Didn't even read the first dang line of the article:

"With just hours to go before a planned megadeal the would send Kevin Love to Cleveland, the Phoenix Suns reached out to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday to ask once more about the possibility of acquiring Love in a sign-and-trade for guard Eric Bledsoe, sources told ESPN.com."

2 key points there:

  1. Phoenix reached out. Not Minnesota is listening. Heck, the Pistons should reach out and offer Josh Smith. Maybe the Hawks can reach out and offer Teague and Korver. Anyone can reach out and then turn around and smile at their fanbase and say "Look! We tried!"
  2. PHX has already asked before. And has been rejected. They're just trying again, and as the tweet I posted above said, Minny said thanks but no thanks.

I think it's funny too. Phoenix - we don't want to pay Bledsoe, but please do so Minny, and just give us your franchise player in return. I can't even imagine how much Flip was laughing, which is the only reason why it made it as a headline since he couldn't say no right away, before he was finally able to pick himself off the floor, gain his composure and finally say no about 30 minutes later.

:chuckle:

Why would the writer even write that as a full article? Lol

That's some crap you put in like one sentence of a Love to Cleveland piece and then right after say just kidding guys lol

This push by Phoenix is just one more example of why waiting it out with an offer that didn't include Wiggins had the serious risk of Love going elsewhere. If it was Waiters instead of Wiggins they might have looked harder at Phoenix since Waiters will be looking for a larger contract soon enough.

If I'm Minnesota, after you trade Kevin Love, I'd consider a Bledsoe for Rubio trade.

Bledsoe for Love isn't going to get a deal done. Phoenix would probably have to throw in the Morris twins and other pieces, but it won't happen anyways.

Too little, too late? Seems like it's more about Phoenix not knowing what to do, more than anything else.

Suns make late Kevin Love pitch

With just hours to go before a planned megadeal the would send Kevin Love to Cleveland, the Phoenix Suns reached out to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday to ask once more about the possibility of acquiring Love in a sign-and-trade for guard Eric Bledsoe, sources told ESPN.com.

The Cavaliers and Wolves have had an agreement in place on Love for weeks and it remains intact, sources said. That trade, which morphed into a three-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers that will send Thaddeus Young to Minnesota, is expected to be completed on Saturday.

Talks between the Suns and Bledsoe, who is a restricted free agent, have been fractured for weeks and the team is now vetting all options. That includes other sign-and-trade talks with other teams besides the Wolves.

Bledsoe has made it clear he is seeking a five-year, $85 million maximum contract from the Suns. He would only consider a max deal in a sign-and-trade, which would be four years and $64 million, with any other team, sources said.

If Bledsoe, who has remained firm in his salary position all summer, does not get a max deal this summer, he intends to sign the Suns' one-year qualifying offer for $3.7 million and become an unrestricted free agent next year.

The Suns have offered Bledsoe a four-year, $48 million deal that is similar to the contract point guard Kyle Lowry signed with the Toronto Raptors this summer. Bledsoe rejected that offer and the sides haven't made any progress in talks for weeks.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points and 5.5 assists in 43 games, 40 of them starts, for the Suns last season. He missed 39 games because of a knee injury that required surgery.

About a month ago, a Timberwolves beat reporter was dismissive of Bledsoe being a possible factor in a Love trade. Kick rocks, Jon Krawczynski.

Somebody please post the referenced recent picture of Haywood. I'd like to see if his foot is properly attached.

No evidence of the foot in this pic though. He may just be floating.
