colts not good. but i just dont understand all the hate, especially when people are saying literally anybody but him. he was playing in a new offense with no training camp, with an o-line that was terrible (on the right). having the most dropped passes, certainly didnt help either. its crazy to say that colt ruined MoMass. thats just not true. why not another year with a lot better receivers and players just so that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt? if he doesnt play well, then we will suck and have a better team around the guy we pick to replace him and a chance to draft him.

He played great in stretches in 2010. You're the typical restless Browns fan who wants to run everyone out of town directly at the sight of adversity.

:chuckles: Okay. So he comes into the league before there is any tape on him, and has some average at best games. Then he plays an entire season without showing any talent and that's the "slightest sign of adversity?" I am looking at more than numbers here. I'm looking at more than dropped passes. I'm looking at the repeated times he underthrew receivers, stared them down, refused to go through progressions, looked dumbfounded when asked to read a blitz. I'm looking at him running straight into the pressure before it even got through the line. I'm talking about how his intermediate throws took about 5 minutes to get to the receiver letting the DB sit down, have a cup of coffee, then jump the route. Completely ignoring all stats, you can't tell me you watched the games and actually saw stuff the impressed you about him?

The only time the offense had any kind of movement was when the D went prevent because they already had the game sealed up. It was ridiculous, he was awful.

McCoy had so much working against him last year.

-He had to learn an entire new offense in a lock-out year, in only his second year.
-The Offensive line was atrocious
-We had little to no running game at all
-The receivers were terrible and dropping passes all over the place
-Play calling was very questionable at times

Couldn't find the film against the Saints, but those were 3 of the best teams in the NFL and he showed major flashes.

Teams have tape on him now and know his tendencies. No offense, but you are one of those Browns fans that isn't a fan of taking playmakers. You even said Decastro was a better prospect than RG3, which was false. I don't think there is a point of arguing, because we have different types of philosophies on how a team is built. If it were up to you we would be drafting an offensive linement every season in the 1st round trying to protect a turd QB in Colt. And the arguement about Cleveland fans running the quarterbacks out of town doesn't hold a lot of water. This franchise never got rid of a QB that didn't deserve it. What QB have we cut loose that went on to do great things? And for the record, just because im hard on Colt, doesn't mean I have been the same for all the other turds we dumped. I was originally mad we weren't more patient with guys like Quinn. I never understood the hate Delhomme got when he was never the same after his high ankle sprain. And I was a big supporter of guys like Couch. Colt, Frye, and Anderson on the other hand, I didn't care for at all.

It doesn't just pertain to QB's, but coaches, and regimes also. Quit the consistent carousal of these things and take some time to build the team.

The game against the Patriots was good, 144 of his 280 yards against the Steelers came in the 4th quarter when the game was already over, and he only had 70 yards against the Saints..

Jags, Bengals game, he showed some real promise.

You have to be able to cut your losses, and Colt is a loss. Thats fine if you think the team around him sucks. But why is it that he continued to make the same mistakes every Sunday? He still can't read defenses, shaky under center, can't make all the throws, accuracy problems, gets passes swatted down, locks down on receivers, and he isn't good at using the left side of the field. He didn't show us anything last season. All you are doing is going off of tape from 2010. Where teams had no idea how to defend him yet. Well the book it out on Colt, and he hasn't been the same since. There isn't one thing he does on the field that makes me think he can be the guy. But he will still get the "he is a winner" and "brings intagibles" excuses.

You still need to understand how much he had going against him last season, and you aren't taking that into any consideration at all. If you can't give the dude another year under center with a better team you're just another stereotypical Browns fan trying to run another QB out of town.

I know it's preseason but McCoy looked good against Green Bay too

You can call me a stereotypical all you want. It doens't change the fact Colt can't hang in this league. Back-up at best.

Stereotypical..

How do you think Aaron Rodgers would have played if he was just thrown into the fire his first two years instead of sitting behind Brett Favre? Horribly.

Don't bother arguing with Pav3Ball about Colt.

We had this back and forth at the beginning of the season. Him saying 'Colt sucks'... me saying 'Give Colt the entire season and not just a week'... him saying 'Colt sucks'... me saying 'Give Colt the entire season and not just a week'... ad nauseum.

Then the end of the season came and I'm saying 'Colt sucks'.

My point.... Pav3Ball isn't going to stop saying Colt sucks, so you're just wasting your breath... er your fingers.

He would have been better than Colt, thats for sure. Aaron Rodgers has a great arm, scarmbling ability, and can read defenses better than most quarterbacks in the league. What does Colt do well? Do you honestly believe that if it had been Colt behind Favre, the Packers would still be as successful as they have been? Put Colt on the Packers and they don't sniff the playoffs.

Coming into the league there is no way he had those skills. He developed that behind Favre for years.
