The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Doesn't seneschal mean servant? Sansa doesn't really fit that description.
"the steward or major-domo of a medieval great house."

"a governor or other administrative or judicial officer."

Honestly, that doesn't really fit either Sansa nor Varys

I'm not really worried about Tyrion and Cersei. He clearly wanted to believe her, maybe partially because of some residual sense of family, and partly because he know getting her cooperation was essential to saving Westeros. So he believed what he wanted to believe.

But now, he's going to learn from Jaime that she lied to them all. Jaime also likely will tell him that Cersei referred to Jaime himself as having committed treason. And, it's likely that Bronn will tell the Lannister boys that their sister wants him to murder both of them. So I suspect they are going to agree that she must be viewed as the enemy moving forward.

Also, I suspect that Tyrion and Jaime will conclude that she's probably lied to the both of them about being pregnant as part of her scheme to manipulate them.

I'll be interested to see on the pregnancy thing.

She had a sad/tearful look when Euron mentioned getting her pregnant.

Yeah maybe she was pregnant and had a miscarriage. She was clearly drinking wine this first episode. Wasn't she abstaining when she first said she was pregnant? She's an alcoholic I think, so it doesn't mean much. Also one glass of wine doesn't do anything. Getting drunk does.

Tyrion turning on Dany I just still don't really see it.

It's very possible he cut some kind of deal with her Cersei. We don't know exactly what.

But Tyrion going all in on Cersei's side still makes little to no sense.

There would very little for him to gain. Yes, he always wanted to be welcome as a true Lannister. He wants his sister's respect. But still, it'd make very little sense for him to do this. He's got way more to gain staying with Dany.

I think it's just possible he made some sort of deal with Cersei, not that he's literally going to back stab Dany.

But I don't know....

Did we actually see her drink it? Could have just been a show for Euron, or maybe she was never pregnant to begin with and it was a lie she told Jaime and Tyrion to manipulate them.

That's when the conversation was cut off. When Tyrion suspected she was pregnant.

He might hate Cersei, but loves her children. He just got done telling her that. After all they're Jaime's, and he loves his brother.

So he might have made some deal to spare her life. And probably will piss Dany off when she finds out.

But Cersei was just playing them both. I don't believe she really is.

Once Tyrion finds out she lied. Is going to have them both killed. I mean, obviously he's not going to stay loyal to her.

But I do agree, I get the feeling this is going to end bad for Tyrion.

I don't think he went all in for Cersei. I just can't buy that. That'd be incredibly stupid. And he's not supposed to be stupid.

Seneschal was generally a position in Medieval France that served the King in the capacity of high marshal of the realm.

They led the armies in the absence of the King and administered areas in the name of the King.

Perfumed must mean Varys tho. They mention his smell all the time and now one else.

Cersei definitely strikes me as the type of person that would drink wine even if she's pregnant.

She was probably binge drinking when she had Joffrey. :chuckle:

Pretty sure she took a sip with Euron. I didn't recall her taking one with Tyrion.

She didn't take one with Tyrion, and that combined with her touching her stomach is how he figured out she was pregnant.

She may have taken a sip with Euron (I don't remember), but I'd consider that inconclusive. It's possible she just faked a sip to make sure he didn't start asking himself questions. It's equally possible that she plans to tell him the baby is his, especially since she's planning on having both of her brothers killed.

But as I mentioned, it's certainly possible that there never was a baby.

Definitely took a sip and looks like a swallow to me. Hard to tell for sure. But I think she lied. Told Jaime she's pregnant to keep his loyalty so he wouldn't switch sides. Lied to Tyrion to manipulate him.

I think Maggy the Frog's prophecy will be correct, and Cersei has already had her 3 children, with no more coming before she dies. Everything else in the prophecy has been spot on, so I don't see why this wouldn't be.

Given that she's not even showing signs of pregnancy and she's a lock to die before the end of the series, I don't think anyone thought she was actually gonna have the baby. The debate is whether she is telling the truth about being pregnant at all.
