The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Didn't Qyburn say the gold was already in a cart outside?

You're right, kind of forgot about that. Bronn is probably going to take it and run, get the best of both worlds.

I just cannot see him killing Jaime or Tyrion for pretty much anything, especially since he'd be helping a mentally unstable person.

Personally, I think the irony is going to be that it ends up being Tyrion, not Jaime, who betrays his allies for the Lannisters.

I dunno man when he said that to Sansa that he trusts her he looked down at his feet like a liar would and then Sansa leaves and there's Bran giving him the eyes with the music dropping to a dark undertone.

I dunno if he didn't know or not...I have my doubts.
I'm going to have to go back and watch that because I didn't notice that.

My bad he does it when he tells the Lord that the Lannisters will be riding North to join them.

Going along with my crack theory, I bet the reason Jon and Beric could come back was totally an accident. The flames just so happened to link them to the Night King or a White Walker raising the dead, and they became wights in their own, special way.

I bet if Jon or Beric were stabbed by dragon glass or valyrian steel, they'd remain dead.

And honestly, this is a great twist to the question "What is Special about Jon?"

Because the idea has always been Jon's special, He's THE ONE, that's why he could revive. But then that left Beric to explain.

Well, Jon isn't special at all and Beric was the clue. He isn't special. He just got lucky. It has nothing to do with Jon being the one..it was an accident.

I just don't buy that. Jon is special. He's the only person in the world with both Stark and Targaryen blood, and possibly the only person in history. I don't believe the Targaryens and Starks ever married in the past. It's pretty clear that both of those bloodlines are special, and both have been associated with magic powers (Targaryens can ride dragons and are occasionally fire-proof, while Starks can warg and tame direwolves).

If anything, I think that the people raised were oddly specific. You've got Jon, who is the central figure leading the fight against the Others. You've also got Beric, who happened to help Arya Stark, another central figure in the great war, survive a portion of her journey. If Beric dies, there is no Brotherhood Without Banners, and then who the fuck knows what happens to Arya. Via the Brotherhood, she runs back in to Sandor Clegane, who helps keep her alive on the next stage of her journey to learn the skills she'll need to play her part in the war.

And in the books, you've also got Cat, who will likely play a major role in the next book.

He's also made no qualms who he is. He's a mercenary. As he once told Tyrion. "I like you, but I just like me better."

But I agree, I'd have a hard time seeing him doing it. He risked his ass to save Jaime.

So he gives a shit about them more than he lets on.

Man, we love this theory here, and I’m kinda sorta warming to it, but what is the motive here? Seems very out of character for Tyrion to start wanting to back Cersei. Very possible he struck some bargain with Cersei in KL but... to what end? Why?

Well, two reasons.

1. Though he'd never admit it, Tyrion has spent much of his life trying to win the approval of his father and his sister.

2. That look he had on his face when Jon entered Dany's room at the end of season seven seemed to be a look of jealousy.

People sometimes do irrational things when they are jealous, and when you couple that with his inner desire to finally win the approval of family, I could see Tyrion doing something stupid in the name of preserving House Lannister.

I actually have no good reason. At least not one good enough to put money on.

I just can see how they've shot Tyrion the last season and an episode now and it's kinda obvious, to me at least, this isn't gonna end well for him.

Damn. I really don’t see that at all and I hope that isn’t the route they are going with Tyrion. At least not for those reasons. Find out soon at least.

All I know is that, in the books, Tyrion practically shits himself whenever Tywin pays him the slightest compliment, and he's always fishing for compliments in their conversations, desperate for any credit pops is willing to give out.

There are also at least a few chapters where you can tell he wants the approval of his sister. He hates her, sure, but he makes several comments when there are moments where he sees what Jaime sees in her.

That would make Tyrion an even bigger fool. Cersei won't stop till he's dead.

I agree though he's always wanted to be won over as a true Lannister. And he made the claim he doesn't really want to destroy house Lannister (which is BS).

Might have been true at one point, but that was well after he was sentenced to death for Joffrey's murder and she tried to have him killed for it.

He was hellbent on revenge after that.

I think perhaps the most interesting comment in episode one was Qyburn's line to Bronn about Cercei having something else planned for Dany. We know it's not Jaime, because we saw his departure from Cercei on camera and it did not go well. Tyrion, on the other hand, had a conversation with her that we did not see on camera.

Of course, if it is Tyrion, he's a fool, because Cercei just sent a man to kill him. But that's Cercei. No one should ever trust her.

Yeah. He can be a true Lannister when he takes over CR after the war. I just don’t see a motive. Dude already roasted his Dad and shows zero regret for it. Iunno guys. Strictly going by Show Tyrion. Can’t recall shit from the books.
