The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, I guess Bran was this suppose big twist? As King. Goodness. See, I actually was anticipating something good as a big twist. I didn't expect it to make sense, but be at least good. This was just lame.

It'd be fucking awesome if he coerced all this, and we see he's actually evil. But NO! They went no where. He's just King. That's it. LOL

And this big time betrayal they promised was Jon? Gee, who'd had ever saw that coming.

D&D really have no creativity in them at all. I am so pissed at this conclusion. I was originally going to re-watch the first two seasons after this.

But now I won't. I am so fucking pissed I just want to wash my hands of GoT at the moment.

Why in thee fuck is Sam a Grand Maester?

He went to the Citadel for like five minutes, lost his two greatest allies to death (Jorah) or the Watch (Jon).

Also, why is this even needed anymore?

Bran fucking knows everything, he doesn't need a Master of Whispers either.

There is just so much wrong or irrelevant bullshit.

If anything Bran is hoarding info. Could have helped planning against the Night King much better. Could have totally prevented the tragedy at Kings Landing by telling Sam to keep his mouth Shut. Dany really neede jon's influence, and instead Bran led him to Killing her instead to make way for himself to gain the throne.

What's the point of the small council? Bran knows everything.

The next 3 eyed crow has to go seek this mysterious person on the Iron throne? Lol.

Really should have been a battle between Jon and Greyworm. It actually would have made sense if that happened during the kings landing battle. The fact that Jon was the rightful king never even came up during the King's Moot.

Like, why didn't Grey worm try to kill him? LOL

COME ON! He accepts Jon just going to the Wall.

Just absolutely trash writing. There's no way in HELL Grey Worm would allow Jon to walk out alive. NONE!

Man, the scene between Jon and Arya just kills me, I just cry instantly. I'm such a pussy.

"Do you have your needle?". Right in the feels. That was superb by Maisie, amazing scene.

Jon's ending was only good for Jon. He didn't want to be King. He lives. He's back at the Wall where he probably truly wants to be with Ghost. Tyrion tells him he will visit again. So he won't be abandon.

Jon wanted to be with Danaerys.

All the characters who died got shitty endings. Danaerys was close to being the worst because she got killed by Jon, but I don't think Missandei, or Jaime or Cersei, or Edd were happy with how their story ended either. Both Greyworm and Jon seemed to be pretty devastated because of the deaths of the women they had loved.

Not really sure what any of that has to do with Disney, though.

The plot needed him to survive though!

I really truly was convinced last night's episode was just satire. A gag. And D&D were going to pull out for the curtains and go "we're kidding!"

Maybe @Rich was right. They took a dump on this season on purpose to give a big middle finger to GRRM, HBO, or us fans.

All their conclusions were pretty happy as they can be.

Jon is back where he wants to be.

Greyworm is heading home.

Cersei got about as best of an ending she could ever ask for. She died in the arms of the man that loved her.

She got more than she deserved. Bitch should have died alone.

Characters like Edd and Missandrei are minor characters. Talking about characters that actually matter a lot on the show.

What does that mean? Happy as they can be considering how absolutely miserable they are? I mean, you're clearly applying a double standard here. Greyworm doesn't have Missandei, but he's as happy "as he can be" because he's going home. Jon doesn't have Danaerys, and has the added burden of having killed her, but he's "as happy as he can be" because he's going north. But Brienne's ending is "sad" because she doesn't have Jaime.

?

Jon is back North, with people that still love him and believe in him. He still looks like he has a purpose. He doesn't have the burden of being King. He doesn't have the burden of leaving his people in the hands of a tyrant.

Greyworm seem satisfied enough with the absurd justice Jon and Tyrion got, and was ready to leave Westeros like he wanted.

Brienne didn't really have any conclusion at all.

I mean, yeah devastating shit happen to them. But their final conclusions weren't miserable ones. They were all either going, or where they wanted to be.

Brienne, whose crowning achievement in life was being made a knight, is now Lord's Commander of the Night Watch -- a job that she had every right to turn down if she didn't want it. I don't see how that isn't pretty much the best possible ending for her given that Jaime is dead.

Jon went North of the Wall because he was sent to Castle Black. No indication he wouldn't have loved to have hung out at Winterfell, or maybe even travel with Arya, if he'd been given that choice. He wasn't.

The full soundtrack is out now btw guys.

Ramin Djawadi is a freaking genius. Incredible work for 8 straight years, down to the last note.
The one thing all GoT fans and haters can agree on. The music was absolutely phenomenal.

Listening to "Be With Me" and "The Iron Throne" making me wanna go back and rewatch, like, right now.

Yeah, Brienne got what she wanted, to be a Knight. It felt like she was kinda alone in the end. No Jaime. No Tormund. No Arya, not even Sansa? She wasn't back in Wintefell with her. So is she just alone?

She was a virgin. Never had a man. Gave it up to Jaime, he ran out on her. Broke her heart. And is left just alone in the end? While morning Jaime's loss. It didn't feel very happy at all. It felt very depressing for her.

Jon originally chose to be with the Night's Watch. But yeah, I mention him not possibly seeing Arya and Sansa again was sad and sucked.

I just doubt Jon himself is too heartbroken over where he ended up in the end is what I'm saying. Not that he's not carrying sorrow with him. That's life, everyone carries grief and experiences tragedy. Doesn't mean they'll be forever miserable.

Him being king would have made him miserable. And obviously, yeah, killing Dany crushed him.

But I don't think he regrets long-term. He knew his life, others, and his sisters were clearly in jeopardy with her. I know he was feeling guilt, and that's normal.

But this is Jon Snow. He's made difficult decisions throughout his life.

Actually, I felt Sansa's ending though seemingly getting what she wanted was very empty.

So, she rules the North now? But she literally has no one. No husbands. No family. No one. All alone. Not even Brienne is with her anymore.

It felt hallow to me.

Being all alone, is not my definition of a happy ending. Especially characters that do better with company opposed to being alone.

I think Arya just really wants to be alone. So I don't count her.
