Roethlisberger has far, far, far more talent around him than Frye. He has two Pro Bowlers on the line (Faneca, Hartings), an All-Pro wideout (Ward), a 1,200 yard rusher from last year (Parker), and a defense that can crush people in a battle for field position. The only reason people laugh at Frye/Roethlisberger comparisons is because of the jerseys they wear.
That's just unfortunate, as some people are too blind to see them for the players they really are and think what would happen if they switched uniforms. Frye's line is a patchwork line and, unless and until KW2 makes the Pro Bowl, he has no Pro Bowlers at his skill positions. None.
It's still fascinating to me how people don't try to go the extra mile in doing this analysis between the two quarterbacks and just rush to conclusions based on statistics. That, and watching Ben (at least last year) stand firmly behind one of the best lines in the league while Charlie's running for his life as Cosey Coleman lets another guy or two or five blow by him.
