The Quarterback prospect thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean with Hoyer I see us as an 8 win max which is better than 5-11...and with murray I see us having a higher max...but why would we not draft Bridge or Bortles when we will clearly have a shot at one or even both
Much better arm than Hoyer.

Injury is serious, but in today's game, it's become nothing more than a temporary set back.

I have this sick feeling that Bortles and Watkins are on the board at 4 and we take JF :dunno:

Scared to death about Manziel...I am not one of the guys that hates his guts (Boobie) but I also feel he has a ton of flaws and favors more likely to be a BUST

My dream is to trade up from 26 into the low teens and get Bridgewater.

You simply do not take a RT or WR in the top 5, especially when:

-The WR position is so deep in this year's draft
-You have a legit #1 WR already on your roster who's gonna be demanding big $ very soon
-You have the highest paid LT & the highest paid C already on your roster

That's not even mentioning the fact that you can find legit WR/RT later in the draft or off the waiver wire/FA pretty easily.

It's all about how they view the QB's. If they see a legit franchise guy worth taking at 4, they have to pull the trigger. If not, then continue building the D or trade back a few spots & collect more picks.

Here's your issue; If they don't see a legit franchise guy at four (or he's off the board, and you decide not to go up and get him), and both Clowney and Mack are gone, what do you do? Reach?

I take the better football player that helps your team, be it a lineman or Watkins.

Also want to note that I pray that the above doesn't happen. But I also want to note that I find it funny that a lot of Browns fans routinely bitch about not having god enough offensive lineman, or not enough weapons, but we over analyze when the situation comes. Let's be real. No one is going to complain if we take Sammy Watkins if the above situation happens, and we know we don't like the QB's more.

I answered this in my other post, you even bolded it :chuckles:

Even though I hate the term "reach", if that happens, I'd much rather trade down a few spots & collect more picks than take a RT or WR in the top 5.

Was hoping the "trading down and collecting assets" days were over.

Maybe I shouldn't jinx it, but I've become more and more comfortable and confident that the Browns aren't really all that interested in Manziel...at any point in the draft.

It used to be a nagging fear that we might draft him, but I'm getting the vibe that any interest we had vanished with Lombardi's dismissal. Thank Christ.

Not my first choice (Franchise QB, D), but would take this 10 times out of 10 over taking a RT or WR in the Top 5.

Our last trade down got us a freaking haul & would've been even more of a steal if we had utilized the picks we acquired better.

Give me a pick a little later & an extra 2nd or 3rd over a RT/WR at #4 any day of the week.

Get out of my mind!

Seriously? The guy floats everything and constantly under throws deep balls.

Excellent hyperbole. Yes, arm strength.

You're talking about touch on deep balls. Under throwing lobs is generally an issue with needing more touch and timing, not arm strength.
