I can't speak for Martin, but watching the Skins every week here in DC, Morris is greatly benefitted by a better QB, line, and play calling - all of which result in much more room to run than Trent in Cleveland. Trent is absolutely better than Morris, no question about it.

I was reading a little about Morris and I saw he had fumbling problems in college. He has 4 this year. That really doesn't say much because Trent has 3, but that has to factor into things as well. Also I guess he's pretty slow.. is that accurate?

How many has Trent actually lost to the other team? I honestly don't remember him fumbling.

Richardson is still a rookie, and a lot of his struggles seem to be in getting to the hole. It's debatable if the Oline isn't opening holes up for him or if he's taking too long to hit them, but he should show improvement next year. However, Richardson and Hardesty shape up to make a great tandem. Seeing how that backfield evolves over the next couple of seasons should be interesting.

Imagine how much better they could be if MoHard could catch.

Trent just needs to hit the hole hard. He's waiting in the backfield for the hole to develop. Just hit it and trust that your line will be ready for you. I love how Montario is running this year. He is running like he's going to be cut after each and every game. He has a sense of urgency in the backfield and he finally looks healed from the knee injury. Glad to see Monty running well. Big fan of his since he joined the team. Trent needs to carry that mentality. Always stay hungry.. don't get me wrong. I love Trent. I just happen to love Monty too. I like our current backfield. Now it's time to draft a freaking lead blocker.

You guys need to be careful when talking about Morris' production. Shanahan's zone blocking scheme produces 1000 yard backs like it's going out of style. So many backs had their career year with Shanahan in Denver.

Trent is not getting those big gaping holes anymore like he got in college. I think he's having a little trouble adjusting to the pro game and I think our young line might be adding to his struggles a little bit. He's a beast when he can hit a hole clean and get a head of steam going but he's rarely getting that since he's been in the league. Most of the time he's got the defense's full attention and guys are getting into the backfield before he can get going. Then gets those happy feet and starts pussy footin around out there. He needs to put his head down and just attack more, hopefully he figures it out. He really needs to watch some tape of Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore to see how they attack the line.

Nw, put your stats in your ear. I'm not taking any other back in this class over Richardson. You put a 15 pound weight around your core and run in the NFL. Not to mention leadership and a winning attitude.

This shit is both pathetic and hilarious.

My only concern with Richardson...

Is it healthy to have that much muscle on your body? The Hulk is a fictional character who Richardson is trying to re-enact.

Interesting post by SOBO over at OBR:

Saw this during the Seattle game, and it was something I didn't know.

Trent Richardson leads the league in carries of 5-7 yards. Marshawn Lynch is No. 2, while Arian Foster is third.

Obviously, that is a very good thing.

The concern is that he's not breaking off the big runs to counteract when he's caught in the backfield like most backs.

That is usually one of two things...

1. He's not making guys miss at the second and third level
2. He's not getting blocks at the second level.

And it's a combination of both really.

But, I saw that stat and was surprised. Especially for a "soft" runner that dances too much.

I think had Richardson been healthy he puts up a better year. Also look at the QB play, Weeden is the worst QB out of the 4 by a long shot. Is Richardson, Peterson not even close, so that alone makes me question the top 3 pick. But overall I am happy with him, and think next year he will break out.

I absolutely love how he turns runs where he has no hole into 4-5 yard gains. 2nd and 6 is huge compared to 2nd and 10. You can't take that for granted, its one of his most valuable talents. He may not be making guys miss yet and his vision might not be caught up to the speed of the game on every play, but his raw strength and talent is incredible.

Give him some better blockers and he'll be a top RB in the NFL easily.

Is anyone really complaining about the offensive line?

Oh wait, it's Chris....nevermind.

What makes you say this? Hardesty seems to come in and bust big gainers pretty often with the same line...

Right now Trent is just too slow finding and hitting the hole. Too much dancing, not enough explosion and downhill running out of the backfield. Maybe he needs to shed a few pounds of muscle without losing strength..find a balance.
