BioShock 2 was like the bastard stepchild of the series. Infinite is much better.
 
I'm severely addicted to Far Cry 4 right now. It may not even be as good as Far Cry 3, but it's still fun. They are pretty similar.
 
Yeah, I just finished up 2 today and it was not nearly as good as the 1st one.

It was made by a different developer than the other two. It was basically a cash grab by 2K after the first one was so popular.
 
As odd as this sounds. I am playing Mario Kart 8 Wii-U and on PS4, Super Mega Baseball... Yeah the game is fun.
 
For anybody that has the DLC for Far Cry 4, is it worth it? I'm thinking about it. I'm so addicted to this game right now. Like bad.

I was to Far Cry 3 too, but I never ended up finishing it "100%". Once I finished the story mode, I stopped playing all together. This time I might be motivated to complete it 100% and get everything. But to put it in perspective, I have played a TON and have gotten pretty deep into the story and I'm only at like 53%.
 
I'm playing Far Cry and Madden a lot on the xbone rn.
 
Beat Pre Sequel, it was pretty cool, idk if it was really worth $30 though... they could have done a lot more to make it more like a stand alone game .



Also finished Tomb Raider, spectacular game . I felt smart after figuring out puzzles, though some baddies were bullet sponges..taking several blasts from my shot gun at close range shouldn't happen, especially on easy mode

Team Fortress 2 released a new game mode recently called Mannpower. It's still in beta, but it's a lot of fun. You get a grappling hook that can get you across the two maps (Gorge and Foundry, both of which were already in the game) very quickly, and there are nine power-ups that you can pick up that give you various enhancements until you either die or drop them.

The grappling hook really changes the game. You can hide above doorways, reach areas that were otherwise impossible for certain classes, and just generally use it to abuse other players. You can even attach it to a player if you're good and hook onto them while they run.

Some of the power-ups get a little overpowered, but I imagine they'll be tweaked over time. There are a lot of fun combinations, although some power-ups are pretty useless with certain classes. Still, they serve to make the game pretty chaotic and fun. A few examples are Haste, which increases your ammo count, reload speed, and overall movement speed, Warlock, which increases your max health and causes anyone who hurts you to receive half the damage back to themselves, and Strength, which doubles damage output.

The only game mode right now is CTF, and it's old school CTF where the intel returns to your base when touched by a team member (base TF2 has a timer that counts down after the intel is dropped) and you can only cap the intel if yours is currently at your base. The grappling hook makes it insanely easy to hop around the map after grabbing the flag, too.

All in all, if any of you guys have or play TF2, I'd encourage you to give the new mode a try. I don't like playing it for long periods of time, but it's fun in half hour doses with friends.
 
Anyone else messed around with the MyCareer mode in WWE2K15?

Super disappointing. I'm still on Smackdown, have played like 80 matches it seems and nothing has happened other than providing a 'farewell match' for William Regal.

I was expecting this to be draped in storyline and fully immersive. At this stage, I'm just wrestling match after match for no apparent reason.
 
I got the beta for Don't Starve Together last week and started playing it over the long weekend with some friends. For those unfamiliar, it's basically Don't Starve, which was a fun little indie game by the guys who made Mark of the Ninja (a great game that everyone should play, by the way), but with up to six players sharing a world together.

If you haven't played or heard much about Don't Starve, I recommend it. It's a rougelike with (mostly) permadeath and tasks you with staying alive in a sort of horrific version of our own wilderness, where venturing out in the dark at night is an instant invitation to death and almost all of the creatures are hostile at least some of the time. It's a challenging game that will really force you to manage your time appropriately and always be working toward better gear and equipment to keep you alive so that you can keep yourself alive another day.

Don't Starve Together is more of less the same game but with friends. I prefer it quite a bit to the original game. While it loses a lot of the horror and isolation that is inherent in a game where you're one person and the world hates you and everything seems to be more dangerous than you are, it makes up for it by just being more manageable and fun. A lot of the frustration of never having enough time to gather all the resources you need is nullified when you have several people who can all focus their time on different tasks, and that's without us really being all that organized since we're just getting started with the game.

The game is definitely still in beta, though. It lacks a lot of the features and additions that were made to the main game over time, and currently lacks all (I think) the content from the Reign of Giants expansion. I'm assuming most, if not all, of that stuff will be added over time, and right now the game runs pretty well. My friends and I only had one instance of lag forcing me to shut down the server I was hosting. I'm assuming this issue was on the game's end, as we moved to TF2 and my ping was normal. Regardless, bumps are to be expected when you play an unfinished game, and that's the only one we've run into so far. I have at least half a dozen mods running to augment the game and it has yet to crash on us.

And, oh yeah, mods. The game has Steam Workshop support, so all you need to do is subscribe to a mod in the Workshop and the game downloads it automatically. All you have to do is then enable the ones you want in the Mods tab when you load up the game. As far as we could tell, the mods worked for everyone in my server without requiring my friends to also subscribe to them, so that's points for ease of use.

The mods vary from adding new characters (DST only has a couple from the original game at present...one of the mods adds several more), adding functionality (one adds a minimap that you can toggle on and off while another adds icons for any players you've met in your world that shows the directions they are in at all times), and some just make the game a little easier (craftable gears, for example, which can be difficult to find and are very useful). Regardless, mods make the game more fun and customizable.

All in all, I'd recommend the game. I'm digging it so far and looking forward to playing more.
 
So I bought Wasteland 2 during the Steam sale for 50% off and finally got around to playing it for about two hours this week. So far, so good. It's a turn-based RPG set in a Fallout-esque world, although the original Wasteland predates the Fallout series by almost a decade (and is included with purchases of Wasteland 2, although I haven't tried it yet). You know the deal. Nuclear war. Radiation. Mutants. Bandits. Cannibals. Yadda yadda yadda. Fallout definitely has a better opening, though. "War. War never changes."

The game itself is pretty fun so far, though. You have a party of four characters who can have varying abilities depending on your class selections. I've got a melee specialist, a medic, a hacker, and a rogue-esque guy who can pick locks and crack safes. There are more than four classes, though, so you will definitely come across parts of the game where you can't solve a particular puzzle due to your class layout. This is intentional, though, and I guess it encourages replays with different classes. You also occasionally can pick up a fifth party member, although I am guessing they are always temporary. I got one in the first area of the game who agreed to stick with me until the initial quest was completed.

The combat is pretty similar to games like X-COM. You have a certain number of action points for each character and actions like movement or firing a weapon consume them. You can take cover to decrease the chance of enemy weapons hitting you. If you've ever played a turn-based game before, you'll pretty immediately figure things out without even glancing at the tutorial text.

The story starts out pretty basic. Your characters are Rangers in the Kurt Russell from Tombstone sense of the word. Another Ranger died mysteriously while trying to finish a job and your team is given the task of figuring out what exactly happened to him (other than dying, of course) and completing his task. I haven't really gotten much further than that, and I obviously expect the story to expand once that task is completed.

All in all, I'm digging this game. It's fun and the style is right up my alley. If you like post-apocalyptic games or turn-based RPGs, you should check it out. The graphics aren't great, but honestly I don't really care about that. Great graphics are awesome, but good gameplay is all that really matters.
 
An X-Com, Fallout hybrid sounds pretty amazing.

That's almost exactly what it is, honestly. It's the world of Fallout (and, really, Fallout was basically inspired by the original Wasteland) with the turn-based gameplay of X-COM. The only real difference is that Fallout's world has that distinct 50's vision of the future aesthetic, whereas the world in Wasteland is more like our own.
