The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pillars of Eternity is a great game. Haven't really had a lot of time to mess around with it, just been too preoccupied with too many other things. But yeah. Really good.

The bit I played of it was pretty solid, but then The Witcher 3 came out and consumed my life.

PoE is on my list. But wont likely get to it until later this summer.

I was actually talking Path of Exile, but this looks pretty nice too!

Oh, my bad. Pillars is friggin amazing tho. Haven't seen that Path of Exile, but I'd recommend Pillars to anyone.

Yeah, Path is more Diablo, so I guess that makes sense. You got me excited to delve into Pillars though.

Hey guys, just a heads up...you can return Steam games now.

You have to meet the following criteria:
  • Have had the game for less than two weeks.
  • Have played the game for less than two hours.
Some DLC will be non-refundable, but overall I think this is a pretty great idea. I've bought a ton of games that I played for an hour and just wasn't totally fond of. Nice to know I can get my money back now if I'm just not feeling a game. I guess it also gives players more incentive to buy a game to try it.

I know it's like 3 years late, but I bought The Last of Us Remastered a few days ago. Needed something to do during the long layoff between playoff series and everywhere I saw this game had the highest of ratings. Took me a couple days to beat.

Maybe it's because my expectations were so high from all the ratings and everyone saying it's the best game ever, but I thought it was overrated. Good game, good story and everything, but the gameplay was pretty one dimensional and predictable and there is no replay-ability. It's more of a movie than a game.

Everyone always said the ending was super good too, but I thought it was a little anti climatic actually. I wish they would have ended with a cliff hanger or some sort of suspense.

I guess overall I just had too high of expectations. It was good, but I don't know about great. Haven't played multiplayer yet though.

(Sort of a spoiler alert but not really: I beat the "Left Behind" part also and I was sort of getting lesbian vibes between Ellie and her friend but didn't really think much of it. But nope, turns out that was correct.)

I really enjoyed the story, but you're correct on the next to no replayability.

The multiplayer is kind of gimmicky. It's not bad, but I can't sit down and play it for more than 30 minutes without getting bored.

A couple little changes and I would say it would be deserving of the 10/10 rating. For one, like I said, make the ending a little more dramatic or suspenseful. Also, would have been nice if it was sort of rpg where you could make decisions that would lead to two different endings, even if it wasn't just for the final scene.

And there is alot of things that could be done with the game play too but I suppose it doesn't matter when it's all about the story and getting to the cut scenes anyway.

Got in on the early access for Ark: Survival Evolved (basically, just pay $25 on Steam for the game and play it while it's still in development, to be released in 2016).

You create a character, with whatever ridiculous proportions you desire, and are dropped naked on an island with zero information whatsoever. There are strange, alien-looking structures scattered around the island, which also happens to be inhabited with a slew of dinosaurs. As the title would suggest, it's a survival game. Completely open sandbox world where you can build whatever you want provided you gather the correct materials. I've never played minecraft, but I think it's a similar concept. Want to make an axe? Go into the woods, cut down some trees and pick up some stone. You can also train dinosaurs as your pets and ride them. That includes T-rexes, pterodactyls, and giant sharks. You can form a tribe. You can kill other players and steal their shit. It has a built in voice chat system that allows you to hear anyone within range with a hotkey.

It's still relatively buggy, with things like corpses of recently slain dinos drifting off into the sky only to get stuck in a tree. The temperature and water/food resource management is a bit of a pain in the ass currently.

That said, it's still highly entertaining in its current state. I'd recommend playing with friends.

Here's a gameplay video (mostly highlighting absurdities):

Bioshock Infinite. I love this game, but absolutely hate that I can't just save and quit whenever I want but have to wait for a checkpoint of some sorts.

I am playing... The Witcher 3 and The Wonderful 101 the most. with the Final zero of Fantasy. And Mariokart 8.

Anyone in the Gears beta yet?

I got a pre-download code and then a few minutes later got a full access code. Can I just enter the full access code or do I need to enter both (the pre-download first) ?

have to use both.

One allows you to download, the other actually allows you to play.
