The worst team in the league

I'm not saying PER should be scrapped. It's not a terrible way of assessing the value and production of a player. My main point was really that you can't just look at PER to determine who's better than who.

The only PER in my whole post was to say Jawad is 5.7 - since he's not a defensive specialist, that number is pretty telling.

That wasn't done to benefit the bench, but rather we honestly thought those players were our best starting 5 at the time -- with the exception of Jamison who was put on the bench for JJ's development.

Nah... Moon/Jawad/Graham were all used because they were taller. There was hope they'd actually defend their position, but in terms of "talent" they don't compare (never compared to) Gibson. To run the Princeton you need guys who can dribble the ball, move without the ball, pass, and shoot; and if you stick to those categories there's just no way you'd start anyone else ahead of Jamison or Gibson. That is unless you care about size and want to use a 5-man second unit.

Meanwhile, you talk to almost every coach, scout, and former player, and they all agree... it's Kobe Bryant... and it's not close.

You'd have to go back 5+ years when LeBron first blew past Kobe in PER to find this to be the case. Those who stuck with Kobe the past few years, did so strictly based on rings on his fingers.

So you're changing your point mid-argument? You said that we put talent on the bench to benefit the second unit, now you're saying it was because of size. Which one is it? Did you forget your meds today?

So you're sticking with LeBron strictly because of his per? Rings are better.

If they continue this pace, they will be the worst team in history...of the NBA. I didn't expect much this season, but my prediction around 30 wins seems utterly crazy now...and to think that some predicted around 45 wins, lulz. Kelly Dwyer looks like a basketball mastermind now.

At this rate, I'm wondering if the pundit who predicted only 12 wins the entire season will be right.

I just don't understand what happened when we started out so strong. I simply can't watch. I certainly won't be tuning into what will almost certainly be a blowout in Miami tomorrow night. :(

On the bright side, if the Cavs continue this bad, we'll have the first draft pick next season. While that's no guarantee of future success, that allows us the pick of the litter. To think I actually had hopes of the playoffs, or at least above .500 this season. I must have been drinking (I'm a teetotaler in real life).

LeBron is a better basketball player. He is literraly better at every thing on the court than Kobe is, the only thing Kobe fans can say Kobe is better at is things that are unmeasurable. For example "Kobe is a fierce competitor," that is an impossible thing to measure, LeBron is a competitor as well (other than when his team is down in a series).

Kobe quit against the suns a few years ago. In a game 7 after being up 3-1 in the series.

Is it any coincidence we are sucking right now after the Miami game? Stern put the pressure on Gilbert, told him to fucking shut up about the tampering, and he can have the first pick in the draft within 3 years. You can thank this post when we win another lottery within 3 years.

Not really, no matter how sucky we are, even if we don't get another win, we'll have only 25% chance to get the first pick. Actually there is a bigger chance we'll be picking 4th than that we'll win the lottery.

While that may or may not be true, I'm just trying to find some kind of silver lining here. :)

We have to remember that even the CHEAT had a few games losing streak. It happens to every team at some time in the season. That being said you can't have your guards trying to carry the team as we can all see. This team is live or die by the jumper and right now we are dying.
