The worst team in the league

The most amazing part of all of this is there are still FIVE teams with a worse record!

We've lost 9 in a row. The Clippers, Wolves, Kings, and Wizards have combined to lose SIXTEEN straight between the four of them. The Nets have a one game winning streak (by virtue of beating the Wiz), but lost EIGHT in a row before that!

We may be bad, but it's going to take a whole lot of losing to out-suck some of these franchises this year. The battle for the #30 may be just as tough as our battles for #1 the last two years unfortunately.

Yea, I can see us having a better record than maybe the Kings. But good lord, you'd have to think that a team with Kevin Love and Beasley (playing like he is), one with Griffin, and one with John Wall, will manage to get 1 or 2 more wins right?

Chuck was right tonight, The league is really quite terrible right now. We have some atrocious teams and some great teams, and hardly any middle of the pack teams. This Cavs team is one of the worst I think I've ever seen in CLE..and it isn't the worst in the league this year? Really quite sad.

That's because for 16 games we were a decent team that was top 8 in the east while those teams have been awful all season. I'm still not sure how we got from that to where we are now.

It was funny, because like you guys i was checking out the standings yesterday and was like "how are these teams worse than us?" It just goes to show you getting talent is only part of the equation. Eventually, those teams SHOULD be on the upswing. It looks like perhaps Phili is finally turning it around perhaps....

2010 Cavs (-15) over 2003 Cavs.

That team was far worse talent wise than this team.

So you're changing your point mid-argument? You said that we put talent on the bench to benefit the second unit, now you're saying it was because of size. Which one is it? Did you forget your meds today?

Both. Is that too hard for you to comprehend? That there may be more than one motivation in a move that involves multiple players?

So you're sticking with LeBron strictly because of his per? Rings are better.

Taken from thinking for Dummies:

Hint #37) Know the difference between when someone is talking about their own opinion .vs. that of others.

Hint #102) An observation is not an argument.

You may wish to reserve your first edition. Heck, I won't even charge you money ... you just have to agree to help out the first Nigerian Prince who emails you...

So you're admitting that you own the book thinking for dummies? :chuckles:

That explains a lot.

Because the the Cavs actually started playing good teams.

The Cavs have ONE win against a winning team. This team really hasn't been good all season... we just got blinded by the terrible opening schedule.

and that one win was opening night against boston. not to take away from that great win, but we rode an emotional high against a team that just played an emotional game against the heat. apart from that, our record was a product of our easy opening schedule.

THere's more to it than that. While it's true the schedule got tougher, we still get to play bad teams. Yet over the last 10 games we lost by 9 to Indy, lost by 34 to Minnesota, 10 to the pistons, 20 to the sixers, and 15 to the rockets. Even if we were going to lose the 5 tough games, we shoudl have been able to win 2 or 3 of those others. Instead we really aren't even all that competitive.

The best answer I have it that it coincides with the rapid decline of JJ. He started the season like Chris Bosh only to turn into Kwame Brown.

JJ had a nice stretch, hopefully he can build on that. But 2-8 shooting is still 2-8 shooting. Change that to 5-8 and make another foul shot for the 80% he shot earlier this year and we have a shot at winning.

Generally people who own those books are intelligent enough to recognize their limitations in a field and address them.

As Mark Twain said, "Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge."

I don't know, I felt better about that team at the time. I liked watching Ricky Davis, Darius Miles, Dajuan Wagner, and Carlos Boozer. By the end of the season, you knew we were getting a good player in the draft and thought we had some young talent to build around. Granted, only Boozer panned out to be anything among that group but with him, a healthy Z, a young stud pick, and plenty of salary cap space coming up, it felt like we might have something to build towards.
