Tim Hardaway: "I hate gay people"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can't say someone was born gay, it's learned also. You don't see how the media portrays homosexuals? Why has the gay following been growing? Because more people are born that way? I like your logic though, but it's flawed. It's how the media portrays it to be okay.

You can't say someone was BORN racist, it's a learned! If you have a parent who is racist and they drill it into your head, then you'll probably be the same way.

I believe that being gay is a chioce for SOME, not all... Especially transgender individuals. They've done studies on it, and there is more of the X or Y chromosome. In some cases, people do choose to be gay... But there are those who are born that way.

Saying you "hate" someone due to their race/sexual orientation/religion is discrimination/racism in some shape or form.

I hope you mean hermaphrodite and not a transgender. If you are meaning a person with two sets of reporductive organs than they get a pass, but I'm not sure how many more hermaphrodites are born today than in the past.

IF YOU HAVE A PARENT THAT IS GAY, IT'S LEARNED ALSO.

Oh ok, so they are becoming gay as its the fastest growing industry in the world. Jumping on the bandwagon so to speak.

Here I was thinking it was about how they felt inside. But no its more a following then a feeling. I get it now.

It must be fun!

Huh. And here I was thinking people didn't like to be publicly ridiculed, condemned, beaten, cursed and blamed for the destruction of the earth. I guess that's what people really want for themselves.

Although this is a separate argument, I can't help it. Why on earth would anyone choose to be gay? Considering how relatively "easy" it is to be heterosexual in the world, why would anyone want to become the object of scorn, ridicule, hatred, bigotry, etc.? I would think there's some pretty strong feelings underneath to put up with all of that, "friendly media" or not (speaking of, it just depends on who's media you're watching).

Either way, one's sexual preference has no effect on one's game or ability to play on a team. None.

Transgender - Not meaning post/pre-op. I mean those that are born male, but have female tendencies or vice versa. They are called transgender, because they are both. And they are the ones who are most likely to go through with the operation.

They've had studies on them... and yes, it is FACT, they are born that way!
It's a chemical imbalance and even though they may be born male, they are female.

You don't learn to be gay, that is some ignorant garbage right there.

I have an uncle whom is gay, his 10 other brothers and sisters are all straight including my grandparents. Where do you suppose he picked up on this "gayness" ? School in the 50's? Was it in some underground magazine or circulation?

Painaxl is correct, it looks to be a very difficult situation to be gay in America. I have a hard enough time getting by in this world I sure as hell wouldn't pick up another lifestyle or hobby if it made my life harder than it already is just to be "cool" or "trendy". Hell I rarely go out and have a few drinks or smoke marijuana because I am too worried about the consequences of what could come with that choice.

And whether you like it or not race/sexuality/religion all fall under the same argument. If you hate someone for something they were born as then it shows your true colors. If a 5 yr old is born muslim do you hate that 5 year old because you don't like all muslims or what they stand for? Same difference man and until you can back it up with facts that sexuality is a choice then you have no leg to stand on.

It is like hating black people or any other person in the sense that you're already beginning to pre-judge them prior to knowing them and what they're all about....

Racism or Religion/beliefs is the non issue... It's hating based on what you initially think of the person(s) without the common knowledge of that person

Thank you.

Wow. Just wow. You do not choose to be gay or hetrosexual! It something that is inside you, just like colour on the exterior. My god!

Karma normally I agree with almost everything you say, but let me just ask a question in order to understand. If you are saying people don't choose to be gay then its a gene that is passed. I'm pretty sure I've never heard of the "gay" gene or DNA from any doctor or physician. Besides if its a gene like you said it should be passed from one or both of the parents except you really can't pass the gene to someone else because homosexuals cannot reproduce.

Some people are arrogant when they say they hate someone one for the choices they make and I feel that Tim is out of line. However, I know gay people and they are people just like anyone else; but I strongly disagree with their lifestyle. It goes against my religion, but the saying is you hate the sin (lifestyle) not the person. Being homosexual is what you do... not who you are...

I understand where you are coming from CavsTalk. My opinion (thats all it is) is personally that when I grew up I was attracted to females. This wasn't a choice. This was naturally how I felt. I guess there would be external factors that could subconsiously effect how I felt, but at the end of the day I act on how I feel, not what I "should" do. I dont believe it is a genetic thing.

I guess I can compare this with food. You either like something or dont. You can aquire a taste I guess over time, but not unless it is forced upon you. Can you recall seeing anybody forcing someone to be gay? Its certainly the other way around if anything.

Anybody wonder why Tim Hardaway ws chosen for that interview? Someone knew Mr. "Utep 2-Step" had strong views on this topic and knew all they had to do was say anything that rhymes with the word gay and Tim would go off. Say gay and press play. I could of done that interview and got the same response!!! To each his own, but me, I can't wait till the SI swimsuit issue to see Beonce' on that cover boy!!

^you've deffinitly got some off the wall comments dont ya?

I don't think that's it.. It's more of just 'who you are' and how you're programmed.. It's what makes you, you... I hate Meatloaf, my brother and my dad love it.. There's no rhyme or reason as to why I don't like it.. It just doesn't taste good at all to me.. Where as my family loves it, and it tastes great to them.. My uncle loves country music.. I hate it.. Why ? I dunno.. I just do..

Some of the sweetest kids (when they are younger) grow into these kids that walk into schools and go on a killing spree... They seek that attention, they seek that rush, and that thrill of killing... (Normal ? no, but that's how they're programed, something within them, something in their brain signals that)

I don't think kids are born gay.. Just like I don't think kids are born killers... Obviously certain signs can be shown early, but I think that has to do with what's around them as opposed to them themselves... It's the molding of your life, and how you take shape... Certain influences early on, and your mind expansion in your critical years as you grow really dictate what side of the track you're going to be on..

I agree ^

I wasn't saying that either Lepip... However, some people believe that very thing and I wanted to show that's scientific or realistic at all.

Alright I'm glad we came to some sort of consensus and even if we didn't I respect your opinion and others opinions on the subject. However, if Tim was more tactful in his speech or someone else was for example... would he still be considered a 'gay basher'?

This thread is gay. :coolugh:

Saying you hate somebody is strong. Once I heard it on the radio I thought it was a little harsh. So I dont hate queers anymore.

And that is total bs that Hardaway cant be part of the NBA anymore. It freedom of speech, whats so bad about what he said.

Pip you dont like meatloaf cause you havent had my momma's meatloaf. :chuckles:

(you cant say, well I had your momma's _____ instead either"
