The drama never ends for the Lakers.
---
Lakers forward/center Pau Gasol was forced from action with a right foot injury during the fourth quarter of a 92-83 win over the Nets at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Tuesday. The Lakers announced that Gasol suffered a strain of the plantar fasciitis in his right foot and said he would undergo an MRI on Wednesday. Gasol departed the arena on crutches.
Gasol initially attempted to walk off the injury but eventually departed for the locker room with the Lakers’ training staff. He did not return to the game. He finished with 15 points (on six-for-16 shooting), four rebounds and two blocks in 34 minutes.
ESPNLA.com reported that Gasol said he “felt a pop” and that he is “worried” about the injury. The Orange County Register reported that one possible source of the “pop” could be a rupture of the plantar fascia, which could potentially sideline Gasol for more than a month. CBSSports.com reported that Lakers guard Kobe Bryant said he was “very, very concerned, to say the least,” about Gasol’s injury.
Plantar Fasciitis is a bitch from what I recall when I incurred it's wrath in high school. Pediatrist told me only thing that would heal it is rest and in Pau's case (if it's not ruptured) this will most likely bothering him all year and be in and out of games periodically. If it is ruptured (he heard a pop), which I've never experienced, he's screwed and thus we're screwed.
I can still recall a year after I thought I was past my injury I was just going under the bar when I was bartending, got on the balls of my foot, felt the arch rip and immediately get sore. It'll never go away, just like a rolled ankle, you used your goddamn feet everyday. GAHHHH why Pau WHY!!!!
