Not being an ass, but the deadline is closing in.

As more people get on here and post, I really don't want to have to feed through posts about players that aren't even tied to Cleveland in trade rumors.

I still say the Warriors are the team that Cleveland matches well with for a trade. Jack has a history of playing well there, GSW needs bench scoring and the Warriors have pieces that I wouldn't mind on our roster (Barnes etc.)

I think Cleveland holds on to Deng as the trade value won't be there.

Not sure they make a play for Barnes without moving Deng. Also, not sure if GSW adds too much salary. They are right at the luxury tax.

Nor do I think Minn moves Love. They still have him for 2 more seasons beyond this one.

A lot of this is not making much sense to me. I thought the idea was to get some veteran leadership on this team.

With a number of lottery teams looking to add another asset (the Bucks and Sixers in particular are in the hunt for more picks), it is possible the Suns can snag a veteran for their playoff push. Plus, they have a huge expiring contract (Emeka Okafor) to facilitate a deal. The Suns won't give these away; but if they believe they can acquire a player who could put them in a better playoff position this year, they'll do it.

The player to watch is the Cavs' Luol Deng. As I wrote on Tuesday, new interim GM David Griffin believes the Cavs might be better off dumping Deng now while they still can get something in return for him. If the Suns give up a couple of picks, will that be enough to encourage the Cavs to make a deal? Deng would be a great fit in Phoenix.
Thanks! That's an interesting scenario. I'm torn on so many issues with this team right now. I want to push for the playoffs still, especially with the way they're currently playing. I also would like to re-sign Deng. But on the other hand, if Deng is gonna try and get 13 or 14 mil this off-season or simply won't resign with the Cavs, why not try and get a few picks for him? Getting a pick or two in the teens is a lot better than being left empty handed.

Trading Deng for picks is risky though. Can't keep loading the team with rookies and assets. Would love to be able to re-sign him, but I don't trust his long term health for the amount of years/money he'll ask for this summer.

I can't see Houston trading Parson's personally. Everyone around he acknowledges he is what holds the team together and makes it work best.

Golden State Warriors
Will the Warriors trade Harrison Barnes? Publicly they've been telling teams that they don't want to move him. But like the Knicks, the Warriors are another team that badly wants a playoff run and are trying to find ways to upgrade their roster. Stephen Curry isn't going anywhere. Neither is Andre Iguodala nor Andrew Bogut. Klay Thompson isn't untouchable, but the Warriors really love him. David Lee is available, but the market is pretty soft for him. So while the Warriors are telling everyone that Barnes is not available, they have been listening and even countering offers that have come from other teams, leading several GMs to believe he's available for the right price.

What's the price? A young player who can help contribute to the team right now -- especially someone who can give them some much-needed depth on their front line. They'd love to get their hands on Kevin Love. But the Wolves would want much more than Barnes. The Pistons' Greg Monroe, the Sixers' Thaddeus Young, the Cavs' Tristan Thompson, the Nuggets Kenneth Faried, the Bucks' John Henson and the Raptors' Amir Johnson all intrigue the Warriors. Whether any of those teams are willing to give up that much to acquire Barnes remains to be seen.

Not sure I'd trade Thompson for Barnes...Barnes could potentially be a better fit, but I do think Thompson ends up being a better player (and currently is a much better player). I don't know too much about Barnes except disappointment and hype. Where Thompson is the perpetual overachiever. Can't say I'd be happy about that.

And he also recruited Dwight Howard there as well.

IF we are confident that Deng won't resign with us I would love to swing a Deng for Barnes deal. Doesn't kill us in the short term and is definitely better for the long term. A couple of mid-1st rounders from Phoenix wouldn't be bad either I suppose.

The team should make a move for Omer Asik. He is one of the better centers in the NBA and is young. Deng for Asik. Also with that you could trade Andy away to some other team for some players and or picks.

if we can get a Jack for Barnes trade (there have to be fillers obviously), I think we are in good shape.
then if Deng can net us value back (would rather a guard), then we should look into that.

Deng to Phoenix for Okafers expiring and multiple firsts, Jack and maybe a 1st from the Phoenix deal for Barnes.

Did I do that right?
