Trade Deadline 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would take a 5th for Hunt in a nanosecond. If I can see his regression, 32 Front Offices can see it as well. The name Kareem Hunt is better than the player Kareem Hunt

I'd rather keep Kareem Hunt than trade him for a 2023 5th round pick. Kareem>DEJ, Jerome Ford right now. We'll probably get higher than a 5th as a comp pick for losing him too.

We've been fortunate that Chubb has stayed relatively healthy this year which isn't usually the case. Hunt is worth more than a 5th rounder for that safety net IMO.

I disagree. His usage is down. He still stays on his feet and is physical. I still think he can be a feature back in the league.
He doesn't see running lanes and runs right into blockers and the teeth of the defense.
He leaves a ton of yards on the field
His pass blocking has regressed significantly

You guys are severely overvaluing Hunt here. And I would be gobsmacked if we'd do better than a conditional 5th for him.

The biggest loss w Kareem is his pass catching ability, giving Jacoby an out. This need goes away in 5 weeks.

DEJ and Jerome Ford are not as good as Kareem Hunt is right now. Neither of them can replace what Kareem Hunt brings at the level that he brings it. It's more than just being able to catch a pass. Kareem Hunt is more physical than both. Kareem Hunt can be used in more packages than both too.

Jerome Ford has also taken zero regular season snaps.

Young players make young player mistakes. I was certain Hunt would be traded if the Browns lost, but they are still in it for a division title. Hunt is a veteran playmaker who helps win games. They still need that. Tanking on the season isn't an option because of the Watson trade.

On the flip side, they absolutely should not be buyers. Look at the Rams falling apart after saying "Fuck dem picks." The holes catch up after a while.

He's physical yes. Pinball of chaos is how I've always described him. Again the issue isn't his physicality but him constantly leaving yards on the field. It started last year and has turned into the norm this year.

I don't disagree about Ford not being ready

I actually think the opposite on Kareem leaving yards ion the field. He gets extra yards at will. That physical running that leads to extra yards is part of his game.

2021
- Att/Yards in first 8 games: 78/356 - 4.9 ypc
- Rec/Yards in first 8 games: 27 targets, 22/174 - 7.9 ypr

2022
- Att/Yards in first 8 games: 77/305 - 4.0 ypc
- Rec/Yards in first 8 games: 23 targets, 19/117 - 6.2 ypr

He has more snaps this year (268) through 8 games than he did last year (234). Usage is practically identical.
