Trading for a big is more difficult than we think

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
what about marcus camby? if we could get him for maybe wally and darnell + filler should we? He's old, and isn't great on offense, but i do remember in denver he could hit the elbow jumper if called upon, and he would get that shot a lot here. obviously, he is defensively minded and i don't think we would have to play him a lot in the regular season without injuries. he could be an insurance policy. Probably not a good idea, but i'm just thinking out loud, i don't know what his contract status is or anything.

EDIT: he makes 10 million this year, and i wasn't aware but he avergaes close to 11 ppg in his career. He's doing alright with the clippers, 11.2 ppg, 12.3 rpg and 2.8 blocks per game in about 33 minutes.

He is doing very good with the Clips, i dont see them giving him up.

If the Bobcats really want Curry like we've been hearing, and supposedly the Knicks would be willing to offer Lee to get rid of him. Why not try something like this.....

Bobcats get:
Curry

Cavs get:
Gforce
Lee

Knicks get:
Szczerbiak
09 first via Cavs

Yea we help them clear more cap but we make our team way better/deeper.

pg.Mo/Boobie
sg.West/Gforce/Pavs
sf.James/Gforce/Pavs
pf.Wallace/Lee/AV
C.Big Z/Av/Lee

That would be sick....

Man we'd be so dominant and so deep with that trade. I'd love for that to happen. And it actually is pretty fair.

Thats a pretty sweet trade...especially for us. And im sure the knicks would do it. All they want is cap space. but charlotte might think they can get more for wallace.

Charlotte wants a center bad so they can put Okafor at the 4.
I'm just not sure how anyone could want Curry at this point...
The guy isn't in any kind of shape at the moment.

DJG isn't off, there's been rumors the Bobcats want Curry.

It's possible we can obtain both Lee and G-Force. I would wet my pants if it happens.

I wanted Curry, but I admit it would of been a disaster. I was desperate for some kind of post play and didn't expect the Cavs to be this good.

Curry is a waste. He has talent, but he rather eat himself into a parade float.

Lee wouldn't get many minutes though. Not sure he'd like that. He'd be nice insurance if Av leaves next year, especially.

Lee would have to accept the Joe Smith role. Come playoff time if he's clearly out playing others, well then maybe he moves up in the rotation. Defensively he doesn't bring it like Ben and Av, so I can't see it happening. Least he's cheap and is a free agent next year. You have options with him.

I'd stick to smaller name guys that won't take much to get, as I don't think we have the type of trading assets to get the bigger names that you guys are mentioning..

If Wally is traded, it's likely going to be for a wing player, leaving not many assets to trade a big for..

Basically think what type big could be netted with what will probably be available: Sasha, 2nd round pick(s), Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson and Jawad Williams... Not too many teams will trade bigs for that, that's why I think guys like Mikki Moore and Channing Frye are the most realistic names out there: they fill a need and are available for cheap..

But who knows, the big we need could be coming in a Wally deal along with a wing player...

I'd prefer to just sign Joe Smith (if possible) than trade for anyone else. I'd even be willing to toss them a 2nd round pick if need be. Besides that, the bigs on the market aren't that enticing.

Though the possibility of Camby intrigues me (and I think he could be had. They have Randolph and Kaman), I'm not sure how he fits.

Move Wallace to the bench? He might not care for that. Camby off the bench? Seems like a waste. Though he has a solid jumper, he could fill Z's role in the offense from the bench...
