Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Young big and a pick will do, but that player should be at least look like he has an upside.

If the wizards decide they need to make some changes, I wouldn't mind Beal or Porter for TT. That might be asking for too much, we probably have to add something else to make it work. A realistic offer of Ian Mahinmi, Kelly Oubre, and a 1st round pick for TT would be enough for me.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but if its a late first round pick. Like say to the Lakers, then pass...

I don't think that's good value. Late first round picks are some of the most overrated assets in the league.

I rather get an actual promising player still on its rookie contract back instead.

Pretty surprised at his improved passing ability this season. Never thought I'd see TT have 3+ assist games semi-regularly.

It's all about attitude and mind-set with TT. When he embraces the role as an emotional leader, hustler, garbage man, attacks the boards and makes the right play he is terrific.
When he thinks he is a scoring threat and only half heartedly does the things above he is pure shit.

When he is good, he is one of the most consistent guys. Just does it every night. Looks like 2016 Tristan to me.

I was ready to give him up for nearly nothing to start the season. I thought he was done.

Not sure why many can't eat crow. I think nearly all of us should. Myself included. I didn't see him revising his game.

Not sure why he's such a whipping boy around here. I don't really give a fuck, who he fucks, or what he does in his off time. That's his business and I really don't give a shit.

As long as he's not beating women, doing drugs, and ya know, breaking the law.

He's not the smartest player and definitely doesn't have the most talent in the world. But he has a motor and plays really hard. Is tough, and honestly, is an actual leader out there.

I keep going back to this point. If you move TT, then what? We really don't have any quality players on this team. And guys like Sexton have to develop right? Playing with what?

Tanking is already there, we're REALLY REALLY BAD! Not sure we should remove any and all quality players at all costs. Especially players that aren't that old.

I'm all for moving him if its a good deal, but I don't really think we're going to get that with TT.

I think his peak value is a late first round pick and a throwaway player. And I think that's shitty value frankly.

A late first round pick doesn't do dick. And the odds of that pick being as good as TT is pretty damn low.

We currently have 5 player who can play center plus Love who played center for alot of last season. Even with Henson hurt and we move TT, we would still have Nance, Frye, and Zizic for our rotation.

One thing Koby has done is fill the roster with basically all rotation level players. Adding Delly will allow us to develop Zizic in the second unit, we finally will have someone who can get a big the ball in the proper spot and with proper timing.

I do agree that we have to expect offers basically from playoff teams for TT. No one is giving up a lotto pick for TT and we can't expect to get one. I think we can get a first round pick in the 20's for TT from now till the trade deadline next year, that won't change. We shouldn't be holding out for a better pick than that, we should be holding out for a player we like in return.

I remember when TT was a rookie, he talked about how Jamison took him under his wing. He learned a lot. When he an Kyrie were trying to build the team, it was Kyrie who was the "leader" by default. But when LeBron came, James Jones, Frye, and Jefferson came, TT probably more than anyone, soaked all that in. It is now his turn to lead a team and sometimes, they can show you things that you never knew they had in them. In my 20 years in the Navy, I have seen kids that your didn't know had an ounce of leadership in them just step up as if they were made for it. I really think TT has shown us his worth and not just his playing ability this year. Glad to see him take that challenge because I have always liked him and even though I thought they overpaid for what he brought us, he is now making his worth both on and off the court. Yes, we will see those frustrating games from time to time but we also had those with LBJ and Irving. Trade him now! LOL!! Just kidding.

This is just hilarious. People did the same thing with Shumpert and Anderderson V. Every time they'd be playing bad or injured: "Ugh, we'll never get rid of this player, and the front office is so dumb."

And then, as soon as they're playing well again: "Well, maybe we should keep them to extract every bit of value."

Both are too extreme. We should simply take the best available offer at the deadline, whatever that is.

Another part to the equation is when does Koby want to make a splash in free agency. If we move TT for equal contracts in salary and years at the deadline, we will still be lined up to try to get free agents in 2020. If we hold off till the summer or next year's deadline, we might have to take on additional salary to extract the same value from TT and cut into our available cap in the summer of 2020.

I just can't imagine any world where TT is still on this team after trade deadline, but I'm biased as hell. So, my predictions in this regard are probably not worth much (not that my predictions are worth much otherwise lol).

This is a good point, but who would you want here? Draymond? DeRozan? There aren't many good ones in 2020

I'd want Anthony Davis. Realistically though, we won't know who emerges in a year and a half. I think we want to be able to pick off a restricted free agent. I think everyone is gearing up to have cap space this summer. I'd rather take our chances where the suitors are limited even if the projected big names are limited. Restricted free agent classes seem to be more stable than the unrestricted.

I really believe we should try to stay as flexible as possible because you never know when a deal will come up.

I also agree that we would be a fool to trade Tristan for a late 1st rounder.... next season he’s an expiring contract and will have plenty of value with all teams pushing for playoff spots. I wouldn’t want a pick in the 22-30 range, but anything from 10-18 would be fantastic. 19-21 range I may like depending on how much beer I’ve drank when we make the trade.
