Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No idea why he got totally frozen out in the fourth. Boozer couldn't guard him, and we just decided collectively to never give him the ball. The very first time they actually let him go to work, which was with less than 2 minutes to go in the fourth, he got to the line.

I would also like him to be the main roll man instead of AV since he can attack the rim and his floater from about below the free throw line is money. AV should be the one beneath the basket trying to get the rebound. When AV as the roll man, I like them to try the hi lo play that the Grizz run with TT sealing his man under the basket.

Tristan has just been phenomenal so far this season, I mean it's night and day. I really don't know what Tristan's ceiling is anymore, I don't think anyone does, not even him.

Even though drafting Bennett hasn't resulted in much productivity from him directly, it does seem to have lit a fire under Tristan's ass which is paying off in its own way.

I can somewhat agree with this. At the same time though TT was gonna work hard regardless.

Its a damn shame Mike Brown doesn't realize TT going one on one is a much better option a lot of times compared to Kyrie or Dion going 1 on 3. Give the guy the damn ball. I'd love to see his stats when he isolates. It seems like he scores or gets fouled way more often than not. Too bad he'll be a career garbage man under MB though.

Even Byron Scott last season refuses to use him. Lionel Hollins will make TT Zach Randolph on steroids.

Let's not put the entire blame on MB here.

TT gets the ball plenty in the 1st half of games, so it's going through him is at least some part of the offense.

It's not like TT can bring the ball up the floor, so unfortunately, he becomes one of the victims of the guard dominated offense with 3 score first guards taking the majority of the shots (actually, Dion becomes a victim of this too at times, now that I think about it).

The guards need to do a better job of getting the ball to the big men late, and MB may need to make that more clear to them.

What's interesting is that TT only had 1 assist in 7 games so far, he averaged 1.5 assists per game last season... Byron certainly integrated TT more into the offense than Brown has so far, in terms of giving him the ball in the post more often and letting him score or pass out of the double team...

Tristan is making such good decisions with the ball right now, they should really consider running the defense through him for short stretches, especially when a poor defender/smaller guy like Boozer is on him. He can command a double if he gets enough touches and continually scores in the post. We saw it last year, and he actually passed it out of the post getting guys open looks. Loved the very short clock swish tonight.

I really liked how he was able to get a lot of boards with Bynum in the game.

Really, when have you said, "man Tristan was a ball hog tonight." He is pretty efficient, a couple of dribbles, a quick move, and it goes in. The crowd goes wild.

Can't wait for the next game where he has a really good stretch only to watch him be frozen out of the offense. LOVE HOW WE EXPLOIT OUR ADVANTAGES!

I'm not sure exactly how they delineate it, but after tonight's game, Synergy has TT at:

3-9 (33.3%) in isolation, but

13-21 (61.9%)! in the post

I honestly believe it's a trust issue... They don't trust Tristan enough to run the offense through him in crucial moments, even though I believe they should. All we see is ISO's from Kyrie mostly.

I can't even begin to express how elite those numbers in post up situations are. The way he draws fouls, he could probably shoot 45% in post ups and it would still be rather elite. There's no reason we shouldn't be getting him 3-4 posts a quarter until he proves he isn't elite. It won't be long and he'll be getting double teamed down there.
