Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Any traditional type of center will kill Tristan. Not defending Bynum, he looks terrible, but the kind of C you need to make Tristan look good is rare. It is why a lot of people were wary of the Tristan pick. It is very hard to find a C that fits with him.

Not that I've given up on Tristan, But I'd like to see a Kyrie, Dion, Sergey, Bennett, Bynum starting lineup. Ultimate floor spreading that allows drives and postups.

This is what should be happening, but MB doesn't see fit. That's our best 4th quarter lineup.

Kyrie, Dion, CJ, TT, Varejao would be ideal for me.

JJ backup PG. Sergey gets a lot of time at the backup 2. Earl Clark is the backup 3. Bennett gets a lot of time at the backup 4. And Bynum backup 5.

And always have either Kyrie or Dion in the game.

It's not that hard. Mike Brown is an idiot.

I suggested this in the Dion thread except I moved Dion to the bench so he can basically run the second unit and I Put Clark in at the 3 for length and floor spacing.

We can't start Dion and CJ with Kyrie. Also we have no post presence and we can't stretch the floor with TT and Andy starting.

While Bynum post ups vs. Bennett jump shots would be an intriguing battle of two highly inefficient plays, I would pay good money to stop it from happening in real life.

Who says we need a post presence? And who on our roster fits that description? Because for what little post presence Bynum gives us on offense he's 4x that as a liability on defense.

Cons outweigh the pros with Bynum at this point.

Why can't we start CJ and Dion with Kyrie?

And that lineup stretches the floor easily. Literally everyone can make an open jump shot. TT has showed, although in flashes, that he has the same, if not more, range as Varejao.

No just no :chuckles:

As for Bynum I'm not a huge fan of they way the offense slows down to please him but he draws double teams. Who's gonna score off the bench if CJ and Dion are starting dude?

I Put Clark in at the 3 for length and floor spacing.

They tried that, and it doesn't work.

Clark is a back-up 4.

Bennett is also a 4 in the condition he is in, and can't guard 3's.

People have to stop trying to jam square pegs in round holes. It's all we seem to want to do anymore.

It's not what we want to do it's what we have to do because of the way Chris Grant constructed this roster :)

I can't believe people are still making this naive argument. Did you know that it's possible to start Kyrie, Dion, and CJ, and still have at least one of them on the court at all times for the rest of the game? Magic!

Lol, earlier in the season and all of preseason Tristan was drilling jumpers. Idk if he's lost his confidence recently or something else but he's more than capable of hitting a jumpshot if he's given space.

As far as bench scoring that shouldn't be a problem. If we keep either Dion or Kyrie in at all times they should be able to find open looks for Bennett, Karasev, and Bynum. Not to mention we have JJ. Although he hasn't been playing well I believe he'll eventually start producing as we expected when we signed him.

Dude I'm not saying it's completely wrong I'm just saying you need to remember who our coach is........

Mike Brown will find a way to crew those minutes up with that lineup I'm sure of it.

Don't blame him. Blame Mike Brown. He has brainwashed people into thinking that this is how rotations should work.

He's not given as much space anymore, and his jump shot, while dramatically improved, is still way too slow to get off unless he is left wide open.
