Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just don't see it offensively for this guy. He should just go the Rodman route and focus entirely on rebounding and defense and just convert bunnies when the opportunities are there.

Yeah because with the drive to get better and work ethic he's shown he should just give up and forget about trying to improve offensively

Gotcha, so hard work should have some linear correlation to offensive efficiency. With that logic, Matthew Dellavedova will be shooting like Steph Curry by next year.

Well if you look at the percentages...:chuckles:

Steph is not a bulldog on defense like Delly hehe. But if Delly grew more fast twitch muscles, worked on his handles, work on a quicker release and lose about 20 lbs to add quickness, he'll be as good as Steph because it's all about hard work!

Oh for christs sake. I never said Tristan was going to be an offensive mastermind. But with how raw he was coming into the league, no one expected him to develop much offensively. Hell, the guy switched shooting hands this summer. And his free throw shooting has drastically improved, and he has started to show signs of developing a game outside of the restricted area.

I never said that he would be elite offensively, but with the improvement he's shown under the circumstances we have no reason to think he won't continue to improve. You insinuated that he basically stop worrying about improving offensively, which is ridiculous.

And I never said he was going to be elite offensively. I said "offensive efficiency". You cannot have your starting PF shooting 44% from the field. That just doesn't cut it. Besides, I thought he was brought in mainly for his defense and rebounding...especially 1 on 1 defense where his college "analytics" showed that he was able to shut down the opposing bigs on one on one matchups. I thought we would have a defender that would be terrorizing the oppositions bigs at this time. But that's not happening at this time. He doesn't scare anyone nor does he protect the rim at an elite level where we thought that were his two strengths when he was drafted.

I like that he's trying to improve offensively but that should not be something that takes precedence over his defense. That's what I'm disappointed in, his consistency at the defensive end...not his offense.

TT would be better coming off the bench with this team. He can replace AV.

I don't see the benefit of bringing TT off the bench and starting Varejao.

TT performs better when he's next to Bynum than he is coming off the bench. Varejao seems to perform well regardless of who he is playing with.

Varejao does space the floor better than TT, but is that floor spacing ability worth the possibility of less production from TT off the bench? I'm not so sure.

If u bench TT it's not to start Andy it's to start Bennett

Problem for bennett is Thompson plays 82 games a year, while Varejao and Bynum won't succumb to injury. Once the injury bug hits, and Thompson moves over to center, we'll see a lot more bennett. Until then you just gotta root for injuries.
