Two high school football players intentionally hit ref

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
High school football, Texas, teenagers, during a football game...

I'm not surprised they listened to their coach. Coaches can damn near be parents to these students. You do what you're told especially during the game. Who's to say the coach didn't target these two specific players because he knew he could get them to do it. This is adults fucking up and dragging two high schoolers into it.

I wouldn't charge them with anything. Just the coach.

Mandatory haircut for my man tho.

Yes foot ball is religion here but wtf does their actions have to do with Texas? I'm looking forward to this explanation, I played from 2nd grade though my senior year as did two of my son's. This behavior coaches and players would not have been tolerated by any of the teams or schools we played for.

Yea just implying that hs football is huge there. Not a shot at Texas.

Why does everyone use their personal stories to represent millions of people?

Who knows what else goes on in that locker room, those students lives, or those coaches lives that led those students to follow those orders?

Personal stories is all we have? What else would you suggest? Should i have said in my 30 plus years I have never seen nor heard of anything like this here? I mean literally could happen anywhere.

The saddest thing about hat link that @Maximus shared is the stands. The lack of parents and family attending and supporting that is crazy to me. Our stands were always packed even when we were horrid.

I don't care. Whatever is going on in your life doesn't give you the right or excuse to mess with someone else's.

If someone hasn't learned that lesson by the time they're 17, then they need to have it imprinted. Strongly.

I've never heard of anything happening like this before either.

Has anyone else here seen something like this before?

I've seen it in basketball to a degree. That was mostly just chest bumping though or walking into the official if you will.

Do you think they should be charged as adults?

I'v

Do you think they should be charged as adults?

Yes.

I'm not saying they should be locked away for years. But there have been hockey players prosecuted for assault for gooning another player outside the flow of a game. To me, blindsiding a referee who is completely unable to protect himself is even worse. That dude's head absolutely snapped back hard.

The message has to be sent that this is intolerable, and even if you don't care if you get suspended or have to transfer schools, you're going to spend some time in jail.

Depending on the wording used, I hope they can get the coach too, but probably not.

Look at @Maximus flirting with @RonG. Next thing you know his wife will be asking to take him home like Johnny Manziel's girlfriend.
