He scores much more than Varejao, and is a very solid defender, yeah I guess they need a SG, but they also need a PF as well.

It's a lot different, there is Lebron James on the team, how many minutes will Delonte and Gibson even see when VC is starting at SG? Either way I'd rather have a PF, if not AK then another PF.

You can't compare a SG to a PF, they are two completely different players with two different roles.

Here is the deal, and this is what alot of the "average Joe's" don't get, the CAvs have bigs that can defend and rebound. But the Cavs don't have a legit SG. The Cavs can win a title with the Bigs they have, but they CANNOT win a title with the SG situation as is now.

hah, I'm not an "average joe" but whatever

but I do agree that cavs need a true SG... but they are have no true scoring PF.. Varejao is an energy guy(and I don't want him to be traded at all) and Wallace is 95% defense, either would be good, I just think AK would be a good fit here ---- or another great PF.

Yeah, they can use a PF that can score. But the fact of the matter is they don't need one necessarily. You don't have to have scoring out of "every" position. And I think this is something that confuses alot of casual fans. That's why there's this term called "Role players".

Ilgaukaus is the scoring big from all over the court.
Wallace is the defender and rebounder.
MO scores when needed and get others involved
Lebron you know what he does
West (well, here's the question mark because he's undersized and could be shut down and scored on by bigger and more talented SG)

See what I'm getting at?

So yes, a scoring PF is wanted, but the need is not as dire as the SG position.

Vince can do everything as well as Kirlienko can do except defend and rebound.

But Vince can make cooler looking shots.

K by a mile if we must take one.

Depends on the price!

I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Vinsanity is the only option we should be pursuing. God dammit Thorn, Wally + a 1st is a good deal for Vinsanity you bastard. DO THE DEAL ALREADY PRICK.

But the real questino is are you Joe the plumber?

I am Takashi the chemical engineer.

I am Takashi the chemical engineer.

Oh so you aren't Taki the tailor, or Taki the cat burgler, or Taki the terrorist? Damnit Sarah was wrong again.

No way is AK a better option than VC. Both of their contracts are pretty bad so there the same on that issue.

However, AK at powerforward does not give us a low post option. Since when does AK have a LOW POST GAME?
Are we going to give the ball to AK and ask him to score for us on guys like KG, Gasol, David West, etc....

AK at most is a good energy player and does a couple of good things but for him to do those things and have a contract that horrendous is stupid.

On the other hand, VC is big enough to guard the other SG's in this league. He also has the ability to score on those other SG's at will. If Lebron and Mo are off we would have another chance to win with Vince. All of the great teams have 3 guys they can go to. Thats how the Spurs have won their titles. That's how the Celtics won last year. That's how the lakers will win it this year, with Kobe, Gasol, Bynum.

Either we need to get a player like Vince Carter (a star player) or a SG who can defend and space the floor out.

After watching the first 9 games of the season it is clear as crystal that our weakness is OUR PERIMETER DEFENSE. We have done a good job in closing games out and overall our efforts defensivley are better in the second half but that does not change the fact that we need a btter SG.
