Just because they are better talents, doesn't mean they are better fits..

Not to mention I want nothing, NOTHING, to do with their contracts...

Too many factors into them not being good fits here...

Pass

I've finally decided.

I'm voting for......... Joe Johnson.

While he'd be tough to get (I have no idea how we'd get him), he'd be perfect. Think about it, he's a great all around offensive player, and he's better at defending than Vince Carter, which means we are getting quite a package at a position we have a short ginger, a whitey, or a vampire at currently.

And the cherry on top, he expires in 2010. He doesn't even hurt our chances in free agency if he doesn't work out for us, or we have a chance to upgrade (though I doubt that's the case).

Adding Joe Johnson to our roster means championship IMO. We have front court problems but frankly, with all the weapons we have next to LeBron at that point, it won't matter nearly as much as it does now.

Joe Johnson would be perfect. Now... which one of you trade fanatics are gonna go to the ESPN trade machine and figure this one out for me?

Well it's straight up Wally for JJ. We'd have to throw in some unprotected picks and possibly have to take back a contract that they don't want hang on i'll try to make one up.

Does anyone know anything about Indiana? What is their situation with Dunleavy and Granger? Seems they play the same position and one may have to fo .

No bad contracts on Atlanta. All of their contracts expire this year or next except for Smith who has a reasonable 5 year deal.

It's amazing that some people actually think that Atlanta would possibly trade us their young SG, who's on the crust of being a star. We are not getting Joe Johnson. It's almost next to impossible and it's kind of annoying to see people bringing this up. Why would they trade us Joe Johnson? We have nobody to offer and Wally's expiring isn't going to get it done. The same reasons we want Joe Johnson is the same exact reasons why Atlants would want to keep him. They are not letting him go for nothing.

JJ is a hope thing, kind of the perfect compliment to LBJ. We won't get him, but you never know what will be available. I'm sure LAL never went into the season thinking "we're going to get PGasol".

L.A. got Gasol because their owner Jerry Buss just happens to be real good friends with Grizz GM Jerry West. These two guys have alot of history together back to West playing days as a Laker. So don't underestimate the relationship between those two guys. The Gasol thing is not happening here. Ferry don't have those kinds of "homeboys" around the league. Joe Johnson is not coming here even if ATL suck for the next 4 months. It's a pipe dream that simply WILL NOT HAPPEN.

You are right absolutely. But it still is that little hope thing and there is always a chance even if it is just .000000001 (would have done mor 0's but oh well I am to lazy. Funny thing is I can explain this to you even though I am to lazy to just hit one key a few times. Weird.).

AK is definitely the better choice, VC would not be a good fit in Cleveland, there is no need for him when there is such a big SG rotation as it is, he would merely be taking away production from Lebron.

Ak on the other hand, would be a perfect fit, he scores, he rebounds, he blocks, he defends great, he does it all, and there is no PF on Cleveland that scores, now I'm not sure if his contract would be on good terms with the team in the future, but if they got him and he contributed like he should, this would definitely be a championship team.

I could see Utah doing it, if they haven't been winning with that roster, why would they start now? Plus his wife called Lebron a god haha: http://www.kirilenko.ru/index.shtml?lang=eng&chapter=andrey&chap_id=2&news_id=1552&page=1

I was PRO Ak47, but seeing how the Cavs defense can be exposed by Delonte's lack of height, I'll say Vince now.

VC is the better fit over AK for this team hands down. AK is not that great of a scorer, but he does rebounds, blocks, and defends. In alot of ways AK reminds me of AV, perhaps a liittle more athletic. VC on the other hand would stabilize the SG position and make the CAVs more potent then ever. Mo' has demostrated he can pass the ball with great court vision. Also Mo can knock down big shots, and with VC and Lebron on the Wings this would make Mo' even more effective.

I don't see VC taking away production from Lebron. VC would take away production from guys like Sasha, while Boobie and West provide minutes off the bench. Saying VC would take away production from Lebron is lame and like saying Pippen will take away production from Jordan.

The Cavs don't need a SG though, they need a good scoring PF, AK is the better fit, he's younger too, and has good knees, regardless of who he takes production away from, when you mentioned that he would take away production away from West and Gibson, this is exactly why I don't see why he should come here, both of them combined make up for the 20 points he scores, and usually even greater most of the time.

Everyone knows how VC's knees have him affecting him, plus he is aging and therefore more injury prone, the Cavs need a big man not a SG, both AK and VC are good defenders.

The only potential problem with this is the contract, other than that this would be great.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=831~434&teams=26~5&te=&cash= it would be smooth 1 for 1 if they decided to do it(same case for VC).

It's a good thing u are not the Cavs GM, or a NBA GM period for that matter. The Cavs obviously need a SG because they don't have a legit SG on the team. To say Boobie/West makes up for VC is like saying three mediocre player's capable of avg. 10ppg makes up Micheal Jordan. Your thinking is hideous and ur idea is rejected. Boobie/West combines does not give you VC. VC is not the player he once was, but he still is better than AK-47. IMO AK-47 is nothing more than a agile AV.

He scores much more than Varejao, and is a very solid defender, yeah I guess they need a SG, but they also need a PF as well.

It's a lot different, there is Lebron James on the team, how many minutes will Delonte and Gibson even see when VC is starting at SG? Either way I'd rather have a PF, if not AK then another PF.

You can't compare a SG to a PF, they are two completely different players with two different roles.
