Week 1 -|- Philadelphia Eagles @ Cleveland Browns -|- 1PM on FOX

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well I absolutely think he delivered with Taylor. The big key here is Weeden, everyone is assuming he's a bust because he played terribly against the Eagles. I'm willing to wait for more than 1 game before I judge him. Even if Weeden is a bust, it's not his fault that Holmgren came in and pulled rank. He couldn't have predicted that when he made the trade. He got great assets in return for a WR, it was a good trade. If Weeden sucks, that's on Holmgren.

Exactly, at a value point the Browns made out like bandits. What Atlanta offered is something most teams NEVER offer for some of the best receivers in the NFL. I know Moss was considered on the decline, but the Pats just get gave up a 4th rounder for him. They're not in that high of demand. I thought it was a terrible trade for the Falcons. It didn't make them any better at all.

Personally, I think they could have used those picks to shore up the line offensively and defensively, which was more of a need for them. They're not going to go on to win SB all because of Julio Jones, I can promise you that.

Look at that pocket, and look at that dude unbelievably wide open on the side of the field Weeden isn't looking at.

Crazy. Hard to blame receivers, play calling, or offensive line play when you see something like that. Lets hope he doesn't make this the norm...

I thought I was going crazy once the rationalizations happened trying to obsolve Weeden on playing like absolute shit.

"Little dropped a bunch of passes"
"Only MoMass could get seperation"
"Ryan Tucker didnt come back from retirement and keep the pocket from collapsing like Moses and the red sea"

Rationalization like this from homer fans are what made me hate Tristan Thompson before he ever put on a jersey. Please dont make me hate this kid.... errrr grown up

One of the best lines I hear from Colt detractors is how he is so small he can't see over the defenses but just look at Weeden... Inexcusable. I don't believe for a second this guy outperformed Colt in training camp.

It's amazing how Weeden can use none of the same excuses that Colt legitimately could yet he's still starting. I will never let Shurmur live this down. Worst coach in the NFL and that's without his completely horrible play calls. Weeden will fail by default because Shurmur is at the reigns.

Where did you find that layout where you were able to take that play and get a screenshot of it?

You will never let Shurmur live this down? He replaced a QB who showed no promise in 2 years of play.

We already know that Colt is complete garbage, now we have to find out with Weeden.

What promise does a 29 year old man child have that Colt doesn't? This irrational thinking just simply doesn't make sense. You replace your Quarterback with... a better Quarterback... not because you made the piss poor decision to draft and start someone whom couldn't hit the strike zone in the MLB with no pressure and put him in a game where there's nothing BUT pressure. It doesn't make any goddamn logistical sense.

Weeden is not, was not, and will not be ready for this level of ball for at least a year, if at all. To start him because "he's 29 so he's ready to go" is without a doubt the most monkey minded, short sighted, neglectful decision that I've ever witnessed in professional football. The fact that he played the worst game of any QB in my 22 plus of watching just makes matters worse.

I'm not saying Colt is the end all be all of football. He's the clear cut starter though for this Browns team and he has shown it just in the preseason games alone. As a human being with a life span, I'd like to see my team WIN some football games, not lose for whoever the next savior is. At least I know I'm getting the best product on the field but as of now there is no reason Weeden should have ever been considered a starting Quarterback in this league his rookie year. He's not Cam, he's not RG3. Shurmur is an embarrassment around the league.

I mean... for fucks sake...

Has anyone bothered to listen to Brandon Weedens own responses?

They are HORRIBLE. This guy thinks he's the next fucking John Elway when he's only played the worst game in 40 plus YEARS.

When he coughed up 2 fumbles in one quarter of play during the preseason he himself said, "I"m not going to sleep with the ball"... end quote... sort of...

FUCK THAT. This fucking guy fumbled TWICE LAST GAME which didn't end up in a change of possession due to his own players saving his ass but you best believe this dude threw 4 interceptions and fumbled twice point blank.

There's no other way to describe it, Colt should be starting, period. This is not even based on performance but his own non chalant attitude that he has done something right... because he has done NOTHING right. At ALL.

This guy literally doesn't have anything on anyone and I really want to challenge this guy my own self on how to quarterback...

Stop. Just stop. You've made your opinion abundantly clear and we all know it. Now how about you take off your I love Colt T-shirt and actually root for the guy who is starting for your team. Yes he played really badly, and yes he's old, but it was one freaking game. Colt had 20 games as a 3rd round pick to prove that he had what it takes to start. It's his fault he couldn't take advantage, not many 3rd rounders get the chances he did.

Now instead of constantly complaining like you have been since the pre-season, why don't you quiet down and actually try rooting for your team. I'm a Browns fan, not a Weeden fan, not a Colt fan. You should try doing the same.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_quarterbacks_who_have_posted_a_passer_rating_of_zero

Brandon Weeden is a better option than Colt McCoy. McCoy is not an NFL caliber quarterback. As of now, Weeden either is or isn't. We need to see more game tape before we will know that for certain. There have been other great QBs who have had terrible performances. Let's not drive the guy off a cliff because a good defense beat him.

I'm certainly not going to defend Weeden's play, but his post-game responses were IMO nothing to get worked up over.

But clearly, you're beyond the point of rational thinking about this dude.

You really need to relax.

It's discouraging when all we here all off season is "This guys ready, he's older, he's mature because he was a gas can in minor league baseball."

Yet the 22 year olds looked comfortable and Weeden looked the worst.

I mean, it was foolish to believe he was more polished to begin with.

Some people called that from jump street.
