This is the old rule, new rule is just like the regular season. 15 players with 2 being inactive. This was brought to my attention:

The NBA PlayoffsCavs have had 11 guys on the floor & Miller has dressed for games.
Each team that qualifies for the NBA Playoffs must submit a list of its players eligible to compete in playoff games on the day following the end of the regular season.
Because there is no Injured List for the NBA Playoffs, each playoff team must designate the 12 players eligible for the playoffs from all of its regular season lists (Active, Injured and Suspended).
That means to me that Varejao, Haywood, & Harris are not eligible to play in the playoffs.
Playoff teams must identify their postseason roster before the playoffs begin. They are allowed up to 15 players and can designate two as inactive for each game.[9] Players are eligible to be on a team's playoff roster provided they were on the team for at least one regular season game, and were not on another NBA team's roster after March 1.[10] Previously, playoff rosters were limited to 12 players who were named before the playoffs began.[9]
The Matrix is going to be the guy. One last hurrah before he rides into the sunset
Are the Cavs allowed to sign someone else now?
No, the playoff roster is set well before the first playoff game. I don't think it can get changed after the playoffs start.
Marion has no outside shot, which means that teams will just ignore him and if he hits from outside they will live with the results. He might find his touch, but he's looked real lost offensively. Imagine how much easier it will be to defend LeBron and Kyrie if you can set up a defense that doesn't need to defend Marion on the perimeter. James Jones seems the most prepared to play heavy minutes and step into the role. I'm kind of intrigued with the idea of using Mike Miller though. If Miller could hit one of his first 2 or 3 3-point attempts, the coach will have to get someone up on him. He's not a terrible rebounder or passer, and the opposing teams would have to at least fear that he might turn back time and go off for 6 or 7 threes.Marion. Shaun Marion.
This is the dude that makes the most sense.
Exactly, we're going to have to play Jones. Wanting him to guard guys like Mirotic or even Gibson is a nightmare.
I think he should start, you can hide his defense on Noah. It's the only thing that makes sense for me.
