I am the first to admit he knows more than me. The day I know more than boobie is the day he can personally shoot me in my right big toe. I have better things to do than to read about the 5th best pitcher in Mahoning Valley. I'm just here for Mr. Cleveland wild ride and pretzel chips.

I heard he looked great in winter ball.

I know Bruce Hooley is insufferable but he threw out the name Rick Spielman as someone that might be good as a head of football ops. Any opinions?

Just something to talk about. I'm looking for any kind of hope whatsoever because I'm tired of nothing but negativity. *shrug*

Hopefully the answer to this question is "the whole team". As in moved. To LA. Or London.

Or Alaska.

Not so sure Spielman would leave being the GM of the Minnesota Vikings to become president of football ops of the Browns. I get the Ohio connection but why go from a franchise who's on the rise to a franchise that just doesn't seem to get it.

For what it is worth, Hooley is a close friend to the Spielman's. He wrote the biography on Chris Speilman. He may not be throwing darts against the wall when he says that. They also might be poisonous darts.

It's about time that people stop disqualifying everything Hooley says because he didn't attempt to flatter Tressel during the coach's entire tenure with the Buckeyes. The guy does his homework and grew up rooting for the Browns.

I find him insufferable at times and fascinating at others. He has legitimate sports takes sometimes which is more than I can say for almost the entirety of the WKNR staff. That said, if Spielman would be a good pickup, I'm sure it's just a pipe dream.

Fair enough; I'd agree with that. And I'm not limiting this to you. Your comment just reminded me of that seemingly general consensus. When Bruce got hired at WKNR, I hated him. That was only because I didn't actually understand what got him ousted in Columbus.

I have no problem with Hooley not sucking Ohio State schlong constantly, although I think like Herbstreit, he tries too hard sometimes to sound "impartial."

Well, if he believes the franchise is on the rise due to his involvement, he'd probably also believe he would have the same impact on another franchise. And if its a promotion as well as a home coming, it might be a job he actually wants. Speculation though, who knows what he actually thinks/wants. He might be perfectly happy right where he is. Not everyone has the desire to move up as high as they can, some reach a place where they find happiness and retire there.

Moving this team to London would classify as an act of aggression.

And in response to the question in the thread title...
