Why The Browns Should Trade For Tim Tebow

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, I'm sorry. I forgot the Broncos were on a path of destruction before Tebow took over.

You seriously think Tebow was responsible for that winning streak? All credibility is lost.

They won because their defense went on a rampage and Matt Prater was hitting 60 yard field goals. Even in the Steelers game, the Bronco's running game was tearing them up the whole time. LeBeau then set a play to stop the run in OT and the Broncos figured he'd do that. Instead, they did that slant figuring that all Thomas would have to do is beat the corner. Ta Da, overtime victory.

Not to mention their schedule was ridiculously easy when they started their winning streak.
A Caron Palmer'd and no McFadden Oakland team.
The 4-5 Chiefs.
The floundering 5-5 Jets.
The 4-7 Chargers.
The 2-10, Petersonless, Vikings.
Finally, the Forte and Cutlerless Bears.

Impressive.

Come on JAX. I wouldn't be able to stand Tebow in NY...

Why not? Condense even more of the nonsense into one area. Spreading it to Jacksonville only adds to ESPN's nonsense reach.

itll be interesting to see what they do with him and sanchez/wildcat

You can only play and beat who is in front of you. As for the Steelers game I'll be honest and say I only watched it out of the corner of my eye but I honestly don't remember the Broncos' running backs doing much of anything that day. I do remember a masterful 2nd quarter by Tebow.

Tebow threw for 300+ yards against the Steelers that's no easy feat.

Oh, this is neat.

1. The Bronco's running game was "tearing them (Pittsburgh) up" for an earth-shattering 3.9 yards per carry that game.

2. Tebow pass for 316 yards on that one play, did he?

3. For as overrated as people say Tebow is, those same people then go and overrate that Denver defense by an even greater margin. Here are some of the awesome defensive performances during Tebow's time as starter: 45 points to Detroit, 24 points to Oakland, 32 points to Minnesota, 41 points to New England, 40 points to Buffalo (then another 45 to New England in the playoffs). Now somehow, this is a "rampage." I see people talk about this defense like it deserves ALL of the credit, when in fact, this defense was absolutely average.

EDIT: And before people use the argument that the only reason the Denver defense had those bad games was because Tebow couldn't complete a third down, therefore leaving the defense on the field to long, go ahead and take a look at their games with Orton, before Tebow took over. It's almost like the 2000 Ravens with those performances.

That defense is being so overrated just to give people a way to not credit Tebow for anything.

Denver was ranked 20th in total defense last year. The Browns defense was significantly better.

Didn't you get the memo? That Denver defense was the '86 Bears reincarnate. If not for them, Tim Tebow would be working at McDonalds.

I'm not saying he didn't have a good game against the Steelers, but the run game was working for them at the end, which is what opened up the OT touchdown

my other point about who they played is, their winning streak came to an end when they final faced a good team. i don't get how Tebow can carry you to victory when throwing the ball 9 times.

But fine, you guys can put on your Tebow glasses and say that he single handedly led them on a winning streak, even though in general, he sucked.

If he was responsible for some of these amazing feats you guys want to attribute to him, then why is he being traded for mid round picks?

I went and looked it up just to make sure I was remembering the game correctly. I was. As for the 4th quarter opening up the play in OT... Denver running backs had 17 rushing yards and 1 fumble in the 4th quarter.

I'm cool with my credibility. I'm not acting like the all knowing NFLer here on RCF. I like being Mattyfos.

Go retweet Mortensen and pass it off as your original thoughts. I thought I covered this a few pages ago.

When have I ever done this? Find one instance of it and I'll rep you. I'll admit I must have remembered that game wrong, but that wasn't the main point of my argument anyway. It was just a little anecdote about how that play came to happen. Tebow had a good game against the Steelers, one good game doesn't make you a stud, especially when you had a bunch of mediocre games before it.

Kyle Orton got to face the hard part of the schedule and was losing. They make the swap for Tebow and he starts winning. The part that isn't mentioned is he is also throwing the ball less than 15 times a game in a gimmicky offense while playing the dregs of the NFL. I bet if they had stayed with Orton longer, he'd still go on a streak Just because the level of talent they were facing in the upcoming games.

My main point still stands, Tebow beat bad teams and he did it while running a gimmicky spread. He threw the ball like 9 times in those wins (estimated). Not sure why you're getting so defensive about my opinion. I don't like Tebow, I don't think he will be good and I think he is a horrible fit for this team. Nothing to get upset about. You need to not let other people's opinions make you so mad. I remember you got all defensive when I said I didn't like the Sword of Truth.

The best offer Denver could get for there former 1st round pick was a 4th and 7th round pick. Whoever thinks hes good is drinking too much of the Jones Town Koolaid.
