Is Windy serious that Varajeo could be activated due to an injury on our team?

I would just toss him out there anyway. He's going to get hurt again in the future anyway; no difference if we chance it now or next season.

Cavs will be most effective when LBJ posts up Green. Either he'll score at a pretty good PPP, or GS will have to double him. That's when outside shooting and TT/Moz cutting to the basket as the help man comes over will be huge.

GS is pretty long/quick on the perimeter, which will shrink the passing lanes down and make it more difficult to pass effectively out of that double team. But if anyone can do it, it'll be LBJ. Also be a big help if we can figure out a way to punish GS for trying to have Barnes guard TT.
The Cavs need to follow the same attack they had against Atlanta..go big and pound the ball inside..they have no answer for that.

Andy's game is so dependent on hustle that a hobbled Andy wouldn't be of much value. It's not like he's a high skill guy who could be lumbering around but still effective in the low post or as a rim defender.

How the HELL does Golden State get playoff experience advantage? I'd take LeBron & Smith's experience over all their first round exits.... geez #Doesn'tMeasureShiite
Not to mention the fact that they nearly crapped down their leg in game 5 (WCF) only for Houston to totally self-destruct.

The biggest question mark in this series, to me, is whether they are ready for the moment and it's becoming increasingly evident that they aren't.

But nobody wants to say it. They are too focused on health, depth, and Curry.

I was thinking about how out of shape he looked on the bench the other day, just from looking at his face it looked like he's carrying extra weight. I could be wrong. We'd really have to be in deep shit to count on him working back into game shape in the Finals against a team like Golden State.:chuckle:

The Curry blowjobs around the media are a little insane. I think Shumpert will guard him very well, and LBJ will take Thompson out.

It will come down to whether Harrison Barnes can beat Kyrie, and how effective Draymond Green and Bogut and Lee and Uncle Festus can be. I haven't watched enough of them yet to know, but I'm comfortable with thompson in the pick& roll with shumpert the problem is when they pick with Bogut and put Mozzy in the PnR. I suspect, and this is just a guess, but I suspect theyll hedge it some and rotate. Interestingly TMo has always played Bogut well. Done well offensively in particular. That will be something to look for. I think Windy is way off on one aspect of Kyrie -- he's always driven to score, not to feed but in the last game we saw some instances of him breaking a guy down, getting into the lane and then feeding someone-thompson, mozzy a elbow jumper, smith a 3 if I recall. That hasn't been his game but he's not incapable, and he's an extraordinary dribbler. I'll bet he could get to the rim on his knees without yielding the ball.

We'll see if Barnes is for real. He could be the difference. I'm honestly not worried about Draymond. He's not a lot different than TT, except he can shoot. We'll match up against him. But if Bogut has trouble with Mozzy, they could force us to go small. Mozzy can't play the far from the rim for long. We're going to see how good that rotation defense is first quarter of game 1 I'd bet.

Can Windhorst provide better analysis than the Cavs have to hope Warriors don't play at their best in order to win?

** edit - like what Chris just posted

If I'm reading those number correctly, aren't we in the advantage (4 vs. 12)?

The bigger thing is, I have no idea how these numbers are calculated. I like that they fit in a little infographic that can be tweeted out, but I have yet to see where the BPI is explained.

Statistically speaking, not sure. But I'm willing to bet that playing Boston destroyed our BPI because of their record. Chicago's record hurt us, as well. They were a much better team than their record gave them credit for.

Whereas Houston overachieved and played below what their record said they were. BPI in the NBA is bullshit. It's all about momentum. The Cavaliers won 53 but heading into the Playoffs (pre-injury) they were the best team in the NBA - I don't think that's heavily disputed.

didn't see the RK at the edge. Should've looked closer. I have that caveman brain bigger numbers mean something is better. mark one "duh" in my category

How's this guy even going to say that about Andy?

Dave Griffin was asked the same thing after he notified the media of Kevin's injury severity. Someone asked about Andy and Griff chuckled, he liked the optimism and creativity but he said there's no chance of a Varejao comeback this year.

He might only be 1/2 way through his recovery and rehab. Achilles isn't a sprained ankle, it's as serious of an injury an athlete can possibly have.

As seen on RealGM:

I'm pulling for the Warriors-been a lifelong fan. the one thing the Cavaliers have going for them is their cakewalk to get to the Finals. the Cavs played the Celtics(sweep), Bulls w/o Pau Gasol, and an injury riddled Hawks(sweep) to get here. cant remember an easier road to the Finals for any team.

by comparison the Warriors played the Pelicans(good enough to play in the Eastern Conference Finals), Memphis(very physical, strong team), and Houston(were given free rein to hit Warriors in face and neck/throat w/ fist, elbow and even knees!). the Warriors are physically beat up. they played 3 of the most physical teams in the NBA to this point so the week off is more than welcome

:chuckle: When did this narrative of "If Pau wasn't hurt..." begin? He missed 2/6 - Irving was badly hurt for 5/6 and Love has been gone.

"Injury riddled Hawks" :lgh (21):
