It's amazing how little these guys know really about pick swapping. We could come out big winners in a year.

love it. miamis pick is going to be so high next year, and lakers have a real chance of being lower. we could end up with 2 early 20s picks. i guess we technically lost this deal, but its the right deal to make. sessions was leaving next year, and there is quite a bit of talent in the first round this year. sessions is overrated by the rest of the planet, but we all know he cant be the starting point guard on a championship team. i mean they need a distributing point guard who feeds their bigs and can hit open threes. sessions definitely does not fit that role.

Hah, you wait to see if Sessions can feed their bigs--he will have two bigs that can actually catch the ball AND finish for the first time in his career. And Sessions is shooting 41.9% on threes this year. And Ramon is great at getting to the line--the Lakers needed someone who can get to the rim in the worst way. The kid has improved and is going to make them much better.

National writers seem to be so stupid. True fans of their cities teams know 1000000x more about their teams' situations than the national guys do.

The right to swap picks is very nice. Like many have said... you never know. If Kobe, Bynum, or Gasol go down it could be huge...... At the very least, it should help us move up a few spots as I would imagine the Heat will be better than LA.

National guys are killing us for taking on the salary. Well... obviously nobody cares. We aren't attracting any free agents and Dan Gilbert obviously doesn't give a shit about the money.

Even better.... We add a fairly decent sized expiring contract to try to trade away next season. I know the value of expiring contracts has gone down, but it does still have some value. I guarantee we get at least some interest in that next season. Luke Walton and Boobie Gibson will be a combined $10 million dollars in expiring contracts. I think this should be getting more attention.


Gilbert gets bashed instead of getting credit for paying $5 mil to get a pick in the fucking 20's. Guy is a beast.

I think this should be getting more attention.

Forget Boobie, I think he's a piece that will remain here for a long time. But Walton gives us a moveable expiring contract. They've lost value, but a $6 million expiring is much better than Jamison's $15 million. Walton can actually be moved for a piece that isn't high cost. With Jamison, teams would have had to gut their core to get him (for the most part).

If you ask me who won this, I will say the Lakers. Ramon is going to get Jeremy Lin type hype really soon. He will score close to 20 a game, and he has been great assisting on the drive and kick this year, so the media is going to go nuts for him. I really think he will do well, and help that team come alive because for one thing he has a lot of energy, and if he breaks down the defense, Kobe and Pau are going to have wide open shots.

I love the trade though for the Cavs too. The pick swap tips it over the edge.

If the Lakers pick is better than the Heats, we get the Lakers pick.

If the Heat's pick is better than the Lakers, we get the Heats pick.

Example: If Heat pick 30 and LA picks 23, we get pick 23.

If Heat pick 20 and LA picks 25, we get pick 20.

If the Lakers pick is better then the Heat's, we essentially can force a trade where the Lakers get the Heat's pick and we get the Laker's pick.
What I don't know is if there any lottery protection on this or not.
