The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended the contract of their newest acquisition, Kellen Winslow Jr., by giving him the biggest contract for a tight end in NFL history.

Winslow, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, agreed to a six-year, $36.1 million deal that includes $20.1 million in guarantees. With incentives, the deal could grow to $42.1 million.

The Bucs acquired Winslow in a trade with the Cleveland Browns last month. He was the sixth pick in the 2004 draft, rated as one of the best tight ends to go from college to the pros. His knee was damaged severely in a 2005 motorcycle accident, but after his recover, Winslow re-established himself as one of the league's top tight ends.

Now, he's paid like that.

Retards? If he is healthy and has no setbacks from his knee injury he could be one of the best TE's in NFL history.

He's not on the Browns anymore, he will probably have a career year now that he with a franchise that knows what winning is.

Winslow is really good, but probably won't be around enough for this investment to be worth it... soooooo, good for him, terrible for the Bucs.

Like most things involving Cleveland (or the Browns) he'll probably stop having problems with injuries and will become a more explosive player and become a hall of famer.

No but they're going to have a lot of egg on their face because who knows how many more years he'll play and how much up side does he really have?

Now he can buy a few 100 motorcycle and maybe a helmet this time around. Color coordinated to match his bikes.

Boy is Tampa Bay gonna feel stupid when Winslow is out of football in two years....

Winslow has a deep history of injuries, why would that suddenly change with the Bucs?
Knee surgeries for any athlete are a nightmare, most of the time you dont return to your old form. That being said hes still looking at injuries throughout his career.

Never, I mean never will Kellen Winslow be one of the best tight ends in the history of the NFL.

Because it's not Cleveland

Regardless of what happens with Kellen in Tampa Bay, moving him was the right decision.

I really like Winslow and i hope he lives up to his contract. It seems like some of you guys dont like him. I know he was stupid in wrecking his bike but when this guy was healthy he produced for us. Some of you also act bitter towards him for wanting out of Cleveland. Put yourself in his shoes, what has this team done since they drafted him? NOTHING How can a player ajust to always having different quarterbacks throwing the ball to him. Untill this team finds their franchise QB i dont expect any good TEs or WRs to stay in Cleveland.

That is just my opinion so take it for what its worth.

Its not really that we dont like him, its we dont like the franchise drafting him when we did. Im sure we would much rather have Ben Roethlisberger, DeAngelo Hall, Jonathan Vilma, Tommie Harris, and the list goes on. We also dont like that he crashed his motor cycle, team cancer, and constantly complained about his contract, but things never go over well with fans when their franchise drafts a starter instead of star.

Someday soon, the browns will finally get things right and we'll be seeing stars being drafted instead of solid starters and constantly injured retards.

I forgot we released him.

Traded him.
