Winslow signs biggest TE deal in history

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really like Winslow and i hope he lives up to his contract. It seems like some of you guys dont like him. I know he was stupid in wrecking his bike but when this guy was healthy he produced for us. Some of you also act bitter towards him for wanting out of Cleveland. Put yourself in his shoes, what has this team done since they drafted him? NOTHING How can a player ajust to always having different quarterbacks throwing the ball to him. Untill this team finds their franchise QB i dont expect any good TEs or WRs to stay in Cleveland.

That is just my opinion so take it for what its worth.

KII was my favorite player and it sucks he got traded because let's be honest he could catch the ball. Unfortunately he probably wasn't going to get much better because of the knee injury and he also had the shoulder injury. It's tough to keep having surgery after each season and come back better. I definitely didn't want him out of Cleveland.

They wanna break the bank for him, fine with me. All I know is, he couldn't even get off the line of scrimmage last year.

Like others have said, good for Kellen. TB shouldn't have given up that much guaranteed, he'll never make it the full 6 years. He was a soldier :chuckles: for the past two seasons but he has either been hurt or played hurt for his entire NFL career. Just don't see how he's in the league for more than 4 years.

I forgot we released him.

We didn't release him..

We got a 2nd & a 5th rdr for him.. same exact thing Shockey was traded for, and Shockey had done more with his career at that point than Winslow has..

Bucs will regret it.. With his injuries, he plays at a much older age than he actually is..

The contract is reportedly front-loaded, which makes it a little easier to understand.

6 year deals don't really have as much meaning as they do in other sports, considering the contracts aren't guaranteed.

If he's healthy and getting the ball then its a good deal. Thats one huge f'ing IF though.

if we still had him on our team, the same people here would be supporting him rather than bashing him. same thing goes for Braylon, if we traded him tomorrow, the same people praising him as a top 10 receiver and saying it'd be stupid to trade him would be making jokes about him not being able to catch the damn ball.

I love Kellen as a player and wouldn't go as far as calling him a cancer like some of you, but it did bother me he wanted his contract re-done considering the organization stood by him when he really f*cked up with the motorcycle.

Also I thought I read somewhere from someone with "inside" info that his knees are absolutely shot.

I've never liked Kellen. He was overrated because of his hands, but the dude couldn't run a crisp route, couldn't block and couldn't stay on the damn field.

6 years is a lot for a TE who won't be productive for 3 of those years...if he is lucky.

Kellen wont be in the NFL for 6-years, IMO, or he may but in a much limited role. Its obviously a steal for Kellen, but it's very unlikely he plays 3 or so more years, let alone 6. However, I will be cheering my heart out for Kellen. I know he went out there for the Browns and always gave it his all.. He was the only player, besides Cribbs anyway, that ALWAYS went out and gave it 200 percent.

Hopefully he can stay in the league longer than 6 years, but it seems pretty unlikely.. Nonetheless, good luck Kellen.. And stay healthy!

He'll miss at least 5 games or more per season just because of all the injuries. Not to mention he doesn't block for shit. So it's either throw me the ball or I'm watching with the rest of the fans. At least Braylon blocks...not to mention all the Personal Fouls, and other penalties he racks up.

I loved him when we drafted him, but after the accident knowing he'd never be the kind of player he could be, and his years being numbered I kinda wish we just dealt him after that big 2007 year along with DA. Oh well.

Glad it wasn't Cleveland forking over big money this time. Winslow was one hell of a talent before the injuries, afterwards he is a one dimensional receiving TE that has his knees cleaned out every year.

I know some might not agree, but this looks to be a wonderful move for the Browns when he was traded.
