I think its time for a poll! What are the Browns going to do at #4?

I'd take Richardson and not think twice about it. I think he has the ability to be a top 3 back in the league and his addition to the Cleveland Browns would be a tremendous help. Who are you taking?

Edit: I did not add Tannehill to the poll, because fuck him.:chuckles:

I agree with Richardson being potentially a top back, but I still take Claiborne. Having 2 elite corners goes a long way to building an elite defense, and that's what I'd rather have.

I take Claiborne at 4, and then whatever RB is rated second (probably Martin), I target him with 37, utilizing the wealth of low picks we have to maneuver up if we need to.

With Claiborne at 4, you take BPA at 22, which is probably either a WR you believe can be a #1, or defense. If we take Claiborne at 4, and then an OLB at 22, and a RB at 37, there would be some insane fan backlash, but I'd be content with it. I'm not sold on Wright/Randle/Hill/Jeffrey being stud #1 type wide outs and would understand if the front office shared the same opinion.

RT in the third round.

I think Richardson makes the defense even better then adding another CB.

I think Richardson makes everyone better. I'm so sick of watching an anemic offense year after year with zero weapons. He'll make the line better, our receivers better, Colt better, and as Ben said, he'll even make our defense better by reducing the 3 and outs.

If the long-term upside between Claiborne and Richardson is just about the same, which I think they are, the media will go much easier on the Browns if Richardson gets the nod. Cleveland stadium is built for a strong defense that can control time of possession. I think it is obvious that the defense can hold their own if the offense could control the ball better. The three and outs last year were brutal to watch and brutal on the health of an already above average defense.

I believe you can find a solid WR later on, depending on the system you employ. Different offenses are looking for different receivers, so you might find a second round value at WR for your offense in the third or fourth round... because other teams might have been looking for speed receivers while you were looking for size and hands.

I'm trying to think of a more retarded move than drafting another corner high in the top 10.

I guess Weeden at 4 would beat it, but not much else.

Trent Richardson. Take him and run. He's going to be a monster, and while he's an RB and blah blah blah it's not ideal, he still makes your offense that much better when right now you have the worst skill position players in the league.

Agreed. TRich helps both offense and defense and if you can get Cordy Glenn at 22, holy shit. Richardson behind a strong line would be able to carry the offense for stretches, we would just need Colt to be a game manager and not fuck it up at that point.

I understand why one would favor Claiborne over Trent given the concerns about drafting a RB so high, but the Browns offense is so woeful that at some point you have to roll the dice a bit - they need playmakers on the offensive side of the ball in the worst way. Browns go with Trent.

I think they take Trent. I could really either way on Claiborne or Trent. I like Claiborne more, but I think Trent will also be a pro-bowl RB. All im asking for is Colt gone at the end of the season. Anything else is gravy.

Trade down but only if we get a first next year and a second this year. That would instantly add 2 starters by next year.

Lets trade down in the 1st round and than use one of our 3rd rounders to move back up again.

you mean the 22 and a 3rd to move up this year? I do like that.

I was talking about the 4th pick, but I was j/k. I would like to see us move up with the 22nd pick. I like Barron a lot from Alabama

I agree. I think we are also looking for receivers that will not lead the league in dropped passes. This was clearly a huge problem last season. Cant move the ball unless you can catch it on 1st or 3rd down.
