WWE/TNA/Etc Spoiler Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd have an issue if they push Ryback in his current incarnation. You may think the "Be a Star" campaign is a little cheesy, but given how young their demographics skew, it is import they don't glorify bullying.

Well, with the news that it'll be a babyface turn as well as a push, I'm guessing it'll be geared towards the Be A Star campaign, actually.

Probably something like Ryback "seeing the error of his ways" with bullying or something along those lines..

- Here’s the rumored card for WWE’s Night of Champions pay-per-view:

* Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Title

* Rob Van Dam with Ricardo Rodriguez vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title

* Big Show and Mark Henry vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for the Tag Team Titles

* CM Punk vs. Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Title

* Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose for the United States Title

* One of the Total Divas vs. AJ Lee for the Divas Title

* The Usos vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper

TNA has announced four matches, as well as the return of Hulk Hogan, for next week’s live episode of iMPACT! Wrestling, which takes place in Cleveland, Ohio. They are:

* Bound for Glory Series: Magnus vs. Jeff Hardy
* Bound for Glory Series: Bobby Roode vs. AJ Styles
* Bound for Glory Series: Austin Aries vs. Daniels
* Bound for Glory Series: Kazarian vs. Hernandez

AJ Styles’ TNA contract is up in September, and the two sides have yet to come to a new contract. Word is that there has been very little attempt by TNA to get a new deal done. There had been speculation that this was the case for a few weeks, but it has now been confirmed.

If Styles’ contract expires, it would not be the first time that this has happened as the contracts of Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode and Devon all expired before they could be re-signed.

Styles has been one of the company’s featured stars since the company opened back in 2002, and was the focus of the original X-Division, a multiple time world champion and has been in many of the company’s greatest matches.

To add more fuel to the fire, the following was posted on Styles’ Facebook today…

“Where do fans want AJ Styles to be? TNA? WWE? ROH? Japan? Lots of options. Tough decisions.”

Styles is just doing his best CM Punk impression

A lot of awesome stuff tonight, courtesy of dailywrestlingnews.com:

-WWE creative has been told to begin kicking around ideas for the return of Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio is a guy that’s hard to book because Vince McMahon often changes his mind on whether or not he wants to push him. However, despite McMahon’s uncertainty, Rey is still a top merchandise seller, even after a prolonged absence from TV.

-The pairing of Ricardo Rodriguez with Rob Van Dam was “super last minute” because Rey Mysterio wasn’t ready to come back.

-Word is that Dolph Ziggler is in the WWE doghouse. He was put under to Antonio Cesaro in a match taped for WWE Superstars and it’s rumored that he recently got into it with Randy Orton.

-Do not be surprised if WWE gives Rob Van Dam the World Heavyweight Title at the Night of Champions pay-per-view next month. RVD is expected to get a huge pop in Detroit and if WWE wants a title change for a few weeks or even a transition to Damien Sandow, this could be the best opportunity.

-Seth Rollins is officially out of the WWE doghouse. Randy Orton told a producer at RAW on Monday night in Phoenix that he enjoys working with The Shield.

-WWE is still hoping to get The Undertaker to work a match before WrestleMania XXX at one of the pay-per-views left this year. Unable to get a deal together for him to work SummerSlam, the new target for his return is Survivor Series.

While there is no way of nailing down a definitive program three months out, we’re told there was talk of doing something with The Wyatt Family and Kane. WWE likes the idea of a legend like Undertaker working with some of their up and coming talent, which is what he did with The Shield after WrestleMania 29.

At this point whether or not Undertaker works before Wrestlemania is completely up to him.

-Paul Heyman got “major props” backstage for what was described as one of the best in-ring action promo angles ever on this week’s Monday Night RAW from Phoenix where he beat CM Punk with a kendo stick. When he got to the back, Triple H put him over and called his work “magic.”

-The plan as of this week is for a new Paul Heyman guy to “save him” at Night of Champions next month. We’re told this is the current course of storyline progression.

-There is talk of pairing CM Punk with Daniel Bryan to feud with Triple H and Randy Orton. Under this scenario, Punk would do a worked shoot promo with Bryan about where they came from and how Punk had to threaten to quit before getting a push.

He would focus on Triple H “holding guys down” and how they aren’t the model WWE guys and now they’re treating Bryan how they treated him.

Word is that under this scenario, Paul Heyman would realign with Punk because the only thing they hate more than each other is the McMahons.

Another proposed plan is to align Bryan with Shawn Michaels, like we’ve written about before.

Heyman, working with Punk & Bryan on the same storyline, with a possibility HBK is mixed in?

- I guess WWE wasn't kidding when they said Randy Orton was the face of the company now. Superstars ending up in the "doghouse" for getting into it with him... this sounds very Cena-esk.

- I'm dying to know who the new Heyman guy will be that saves him (if the rumor comes to fruition)

- Also drooling at the possibility of Punk, Bryan, Heyman, HBK, HHH, McMahon angle. That is about as good as it gets.

This is nothing new though.

Remember when Kennedy got released, partly because he botched a suplex on Orton's bad neck?

This is nothing new though.

Remember when Kennedy got released, partly because he botched a suplex on Orton's bad neck?

I didn't start watching WWE again until 2011... this must have been before then because I dont recall it.

Heyman is magic and I hope he sticks with WWE for a long time. I don't want to see him turn face though and allign with Punk/Bryan. Right now Punk hates Heyman and wants to rip him apart, then at the PPV there will most likely be a savior, the feud goes on. So I can't see a scenario how Heyman can just turn face, even with his hatred for the McMahon's.

I noticed something about Ziggler too, he's not being pushed, hit a bump on the road type of thing. The doghouse thing is true.

I was thinking RVD would win the belt because I don't remember him getting pinned yet. Then Sandow would eventually cash in and win. Del Rio just doesn't wow me. He's stale, he's not Eddie, and he's always the other champion it seems. But, a really good feud can bring some life to his character. Rey would most likely feud with Del Rio again but for no title.

A recent report says Matt Morgan is currently in talks with people in WWE, but nothing official.

Another report I read says WWE is not interested in TNA talent, currently focused on NXT and committed to that.

Matt Morgan will be a nice body guard type of character, much like how HBK brought Kevin Nash aka Diesel in. Let Morgan slowly show off his talents then eventually go on his own.

But who could Morgan allign himself with? Or does he just come and be a jobber right away?

Matt Morgan could potentially fill the role of the new Heyman guy that saves him against Punk at NOC.

-After dropping a bunch of weight and debuting a new look recently, word is that Kharma is looking to get back into WWE. She was told a while back that she would have to drop a significant amount of weight before they would even consider it.

Word is that Kharma chose to undergo gastric bypass surgery to assist with the weight loss and had to plan for some time off from the ring because that kind of procedure requires a lengthy recovery period.

-Vince McMahon is very high on the current feud between CM Punk and Paul Heyman, with the feeling that the realism in it is some of the best WWE work he has seen in a very long time. However, it’s said that Vince realizes they booked things with Punk and Heyman backwards because he wanted Punk vs. Brock Lesnar so bad at SummerSlam.

-Word is that the Labor Day RAW had a heavy Triple H influence creatively, with Vince McMahon giving him a long leash. Triple H has made most of the calls on the angles that involve him. Vince apparently didn’t like the way the top WWE babyfaces looked standing on the stage and doing nothing so there continues to be some dissension between Triple H and Vince over what is WWE’s top storyline right now.

-With The Rock’s status for WrestleMania XXX still up in the air, Vince McMahon has put out the edict for the WWE creative team to begin figuring out matches for other top stars, under the assumption that The Rock won’t be there.

It’s said that Vince is looking to potentially bring in two guys. While Batista and Bill Goldberg are possible, Vince feels there is only one star that can fill The Rock’s boots – Steve Austin. Austin and WWE are still said to be “very far apart” on money for his return.

A source noted the longer this drags on, the more leverage Austin is going to have.

-Word is that WWE’s interest in AJ Styles is “lukewarm at best.” WWE officials are concerned with him being 36 years old and do not really see him as a “ready made” star like some of their incoming NXT talents.

It’s said WWE does respect AJ’s talent but they view him as a guy they would basically be starting from scratch with.

-Goldust received a standing ovation when he got to the locker room after his match with Randy Orton on Monday’s RAW. The feeling was that Goldust came in and “flipped the switch” – adding to the storylines.

-The WWE creative team “went out of their way” to make fans believe that Curtis Axel has no chance against CM Punk. The seed has been planted so that Paul Heyman may “seek out an upgrade” to take out Punk. We noted earlier that a new Paul Heyman Guy will likely debut at Night of Champions.

-WWE officials and Edge were talking at Monday’s RAW as the company continues to try and sign him to a Legends contract.

Edge previously turned down a Legends deal due to money but now it’s said he is interested in securing more money in WWE merchandising and licensing. Word from RAW is that nothing was signed.

On a related note, which was probably just a precautionary measure, Edge was checked out by WWE doctors to see if he could have mild physical contact.

-Before Ric Flair got heat from WWE officials for SummerSlam weekend, they were working on creating a new position in the company, just for Flair. We’ve noted how WWE wants Flair to be an ambassador to the company but along with that, Triple H wanted to use Flair to “polish” developmental talents before they come to the main roster.

WWE wanted Flair to work with NXT stars on main event psychology and promos. The idea was for talents who officials are high up on or talents who are ready for TV, would have some one-on-one time with Flair.

Flair’s heat will likely blow over, if it hasn’t already, and they are expected to go forward with the new role for him.

-Announcers at WWE’s Night of Champions pay-per-view were told to not make mention of the fast count that led to Daniel Bryan capturing the WWE Title from Randy Orton. This was done in hopes that more people would tune into RAW tonight. The fast count will likely be a big part of tonight’s show.

- According to F4WOnline (via WrestlingInc.), there may be a six-man match at the next pay-per-view, Battleground involving The Shield vs. The Rhodes Family (Cody, Goldust, and Dusty).

First off, I LOVE the idea of a Goldust and Cody Rhodes tag team.. even so much as being the ones to take the belts off The Shield and having a brief run for the remainder of 2013 before Cody joins the Heavyweight Title picture. Although, I'm not sure how I feel about a near 70 year old Dusty Rhodes in the ring.

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE has begun discussing early creative plans for WrestleMania 30, and most of the current ideas revolve around whether or not The Rock will commit to working the event next year. As of now, company officials are under the impression Rock will not be at WrestleMania 30, but if he does agree to work the event, the following are ideas currently in play.

Should The Rock agree to work the PPV next year it's likely he will resume his 2002 feud with Brock Lesnar and face him at WrestleMania.

This would leave The Undertaker's streak being put on the line against Ryback, and the idea would be for Paul Heyman to lead a physically large wrestler to face 'Taker and do what CM Punk could not do the year before; end The Dead Man's streak. This storyline, as much as it relies on The Rock working WrestleMania, also requires the current pairing of Heyman and Ryback to be successful. If things do pan out this way, WWE has thought of Ryback potentially being the man to end the famed undefeated streak.

Should The Rock decide against working WrestleMania, the plan would then be for Brock Lesnar to face The Undertaker, and it's unknown at this time who that would leave Ryback to face.

Not sure I'm a fan of Ryback/Undertaker at WrestleMania. Only way this fued works is if Ryback dominates Punk in their upcoming matches.

If Ryback faces The Undertaker at Wrestlemania AND ends the streak... I'm done.

Ryback?
Physically it makes sense. But he has done absolutely nothing in his career to warrant that win. Nothing. I'm not sure his age. But he looks like he's mid 30's. How long of a career is he going to have? It would be like having a 45 year old Batista defeat Undertaker. Makes no sense moving forward considering his career won't have staying power... idk where I'm going with this thought. But I'd prefer it be someone like Punk or Cena. Established but also have a long career ahead of them. Maybe even Orton. Not really a fan of his... but he has the past and future to defeat the taker.
