Unreal going free was a game changer. It also pretty much just butt fucked Unity.

Unity will still be used for lots of projects and especially by more novice/intermediate developers that aren't familiar with C++.

I've been asked by a few friends to "put a team together" once we learned about the Unreal Engine becoming free. I actually own a Unity 3 license that went to waste (not enough developers had experience with it).

I'll definitely be checking out the engine, but like all projects, one still needs assets - that's the hardest, most expensive aspect..

There has not been a single amazing exclusives since the Xbox 360 and PS3. Forza was alright and Horizon 2 is pretty good. Sunset Overdrive and Infamous were meh. Killzone was ok. I haven't played The Order, but I'm not hearing the greatest reviews. And the stories are all bland. And to be honest, the graphics aren't mind blowing either. I mean, Titanfall is possibly the best exclusive and it didn't have a story and the excitement died after a few months. Basically, all the best disk based games were either multi platform, indie or remastered. And it's been about a year and a half.

Man, rough month for Sony. Playstation Home is getting shut down for good this month. Now the announcement of Playstation Mobile is getting shut down. Granted, I don't think anyone ever used PSMobile, other than for some obscure indie titles.

The fuck is Playstation Home?

Honestly, as someone who owns both systems, my XBone is on more often because I run my TV through it and I like the voice commands ("Xbox pause" is clutch when you've been watching a movie for a while and the controller has turned itself off to save battery), but I don't spend much time gaming on either. I don't think I've turned my PS4 on in a month.

Ori and the Blind Forest>any PS4 exclusive so far.

The art direction of that game is amazing, close to phenomenal. It is one of the titles that show games can also be considered art if done correctly

I love Metroid style games too. Game is fucking great. May be short but $20? Can't beat that. Shit it's probably the same length as The Order. :chuckle:

I find it humorous because I've always bought each console. I just enjoy picking a side and debating it, whether I agree or not.

Yeah, I haven't been into the console fanboy thing since like...ever. But I don't see why a spirited discussion is something to avoid. My Xbox One was free and it was given to me in January 2014. Otherwise, I'd likely not have bought one until Fall 2015. If I had the money and the time (or at least one of the two) I'd probably own all three current gen consoles, but I'm just not as big of a gamer anymore to where I want to drop a ton of money just for one or two games (ie I love Zelda, but am I going to buy a Wii U just for the new one? Tempting, but no; same with Last of Us Remastered and PS4).

Owning an Xbox One lets me play probably 90%+ of the console games that come out that I wish to play, so I'm content with that.
