Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watch Grady go to the Tigers and hit .270 with 30 homers. Would not shock me at all.

I hope he does, quite frankly. Then we can watch people shut the fuck up like they did with Peralta. No worries though, they'll find a new scapegoat in no time.

My money is on Jimenez.

Yea I don't get all this Sizemore hate. Give him an injury free offseason to rehab first before everyone starts throwing dirt on him. Sizemore has always had his haters though. Even when he was healthy and producing. People would bitch about things ranging from "unecessary dives for catches (hot dogging it)" , "shouldn't hit leadoff" (when we had no one else with any speed), and my favorite from the old Indians fans at bars "pretty boy that only strikes out" Now that he is has been injured the last few seasons, people have a legit reason to finally bitch about him. Funny how people forget how Hafner was robbing the Indians from the 07 Playoffs to 2010 season but its all forgotten now that he had a good season. I personally am going to give Grady the benefit of the doubt and an injury free offseason before I write him off.

Some of you act like it's a shocker for a player to go to another team and all the sudden do real well. It's common. Why? Because that player needed a new system and a change of scenery. It happens all the time.

If we keep Sizemore, he will blow turds...... again. If he goes to another team, he will probably be decent. No surprise.

Frankly and quite damn honestly; I'm sick and tired of thinking he's going to be healthy and be anywhere near what he use to be. Three years is enough of waiting. I'm done with waiting. And further; MOST fans are damn tired of waiting as well.

Good for him if he is gone and has a good year.

How are the situations of Peralta and Sizemore at all similar? People like Sizemore...heck, he's one of my favorite Indians. I (and others) just don't feel like he's worth $9 M at this point in his career. Why does that bother you so much?

Depends on how you look at it - they MAY come below Grady for one year - but how many years is it going to take to sign them? Both guys are 32 and probably looking for a long-term deal.

I think that is the thing people miss - it isn't that paying Prince Fielder a ton of money for a year or two would be a big deal - it is the years it would require to sign these guys. If they get injured or their skills drop-off the team is handcuffed. If you need an example, look at what happened to this team after the Hafner, Westbrook, Grady, Wood and Carmona deals. If you go back and look - those were large contracts, but when a guy doesn't live up to it, a small-market team is screwed.

It just seems the fans that complain about not signing a guy like Fielder are the same ones complaining about a guy like Hafner being on the roster. That is the risk that is involved with signing long-term contracts. Hafner's was for $13 million a year - Fielder will be looking at contracts well over $20 million a year for a minimum of 5 years.

I'm willing to bet the Indians could get either Willingham or Cuddyer for 3 years, $27 M. I'd also say that deal with either player would help this team win over the next three years than Grady Sizemore would.

I'm not against bringing Sizemore back at all -- in fact, I wouldn't mind seeing him on this roster next year -- but anyone who honestly thinks this guy is worth 9 mil is insane, especially considering he might not even play next year if he needs surgery. If they can't renegotiate an incentive-laden contract with him then it's time to let him walk. If he produces for another team then good for him. Bottom line is if they choose to put their eggs in the Sizemore basket and he continues on this fragile streak that he's been on for three years now, they're screwed. A small market team needs to spend its money wisely. Look at what happened when they overpaid for Hafner, Westbrook, Wood, and now Sizemore. Better to take that money and actually spend for someone who can stay on the field, rather than someone who was good 3 years ago when he didn't have an injury history.

Seriously, why do people get so defensive when others disagree with them?

Nobody's "hating" on Grady, at all. You'd be out of your mind, honestly, if you think he's worth bringing back at $9 M next season.

Why do we think he'll be hurt? Because it always seems to happen. No, nobody "foresaw" his other knee blowing out, but we did expect another injury, cause the guy just can't seem to stay healthy.

That's not hating, that's a fact.

If he's healthy, it's absolutely worth it....

Is Sizemore better than Cuddyer and Willingham, who would come at or below the price of Sizemore?

yeah when healthy , but he is not . . .may never will be

time to cut ties and move on

let those posters with screenames of mediocre Cavs players obsess over him

as for Peralta, I.d rather have Asdrubal and his glove at SS than Jhonny and his highlight reel or watch him underachieve at 3rd

some players need a change of scenery . . maybe the same can be said for some posters - ClevelandLive would be a good fit for some here

We have to weigh the chances of him being healthy and how much he may play , compared to what else we could get with that 9 million. I think based on his health an avg OF would be better then what he has been playing the last 3 years.

He'll never be healthy again?

What basis is there for saying that?

He hasn't been healthy in 3 years. What makes you think he's going to be completely healthy next year?

Wow guy, talking to you someone would think no athletes career has ever been derailed by injuries.

Well, because according to medical research...knee injuries aren't a "forever" type of thing...I guess would be my reasoning.

Unless you can predict that he'll have some sort of other injury, which I hear you're pretty good at. :king:

I haven't heard anything on the consult regarding the other knee, but unless he needs surgery there...I have no reason to believe he won't be healthy heading into next year.

While I agree the chances aren't great, the microfracture surgery was always going to have a 2-year recovery - and while there are limited examples of others, Beltran's resurgence this year should give some hope of Grady returning to some version of his previous self.

(The news about his other knee being an issue and needing to see the specialist is obviously concerning and a red flag. The above statement is more about the injuries we know about)
