Game 39 | Cavaliers vs. Warriors | January 18th, 2016 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seriously: I feel like a Dementor sucked the soul out of my body. Happened to all the Cavs, too (except Delly)...

While the effort wasn't there the scheme put us at a disadvantage. The game plan was all wrong. That's on Blatt and Lue.

As much as everyone wants to blame Blatt, including me, this is Lebron's team. He is the biggest player coach in the league. Some blame must come to him. I have a strong feeling that no matter what Blatt or Lue says, all the players look to Lebron for guidance and game-planning.

I do agree with this. I'm a big Blatt critic but Lebron does absolutely deserve some blame. Everyone on this team does. But especially its leaders.

Add Kevin Love to the list of guys that came here to play beside LeBron and saw their career fall apart.

Serious question. Outside of Mo, who has ever come here and exceeded expectations?
Add him also to the list of guys to ride coattails instead of playing to their potential. Reminds me of Bosh.

I am thinking this game was played poor for a reason at times. The Cavs are trying to send a message to something or someone. It just has to be.
Maybe they really want Markieff lol. Unfortunately that might mean bye to Moz and less time for Love

Lol. What scheme were they playing and what should they have been playing? It doesn't matter WHAT scheme you are in if you are playing the best offense in the league with the failure rate of a mediocre middle school team. GSW MISSED about 15 wide open 3s.

The scheme has them playing above their skis defensively. And in the regular season you don't throw your entire defensive foundation away to play a single game.

I continue to be amazed at how we let Curry run so free. He should be getting screened hard repeatedly and but on his back a few times a game when he drives. I'm not advocating injurying anybody, but make him feel you. You can't let a 160 pound guy run roughshod over you with no resistance.

Cavaliers existed before 2015.

Mo Williams had an All-Star season with the Cavaliers.

Who cares if Mo was an All Star...so was Love...how much did having Mo help us win a 'ship...nadda...the All Star thing is just a joke to garner TV ratings...hardly says much about the players playing...with all due respect, Kyrie is going to make the All Star weekend having played less than 20 games and some of those were crap...Kobe is going to make All Star and he hasn't played a decent game in 3 years...

Totally off the wall and this game doesnt justify.... but we need to start a website that tracks fouls called on players going to rim... its mystifying how many times Bron goes to the rack with out a foul being called, with also who the ref was who called it, but yet others (harden to be exact) go and get sniffed on and get a foul called. Think of it as a different pro football focus for basketball in a sense.
I am just so sick of the NBA and how certain guys get more calls than others and its infuriating. The league needs held accountable for this and there is nothing we can do...

We were 19-20 through 39 games last year.
We are 28-11 through 39 games this year.

Just food for thought.
We are all overreacting, it's what happens in sports. Especially right after an embarrassing loss.

My biggest concern is the really odd inconsistencies. We went a week or so where the offense was just insane. Scoring 120 a couple times. Then we go in these spots where we can't score at all. I think we all agree it is mostly due to ball movement. Question is, why I'm earth with a team with this much talent would the ball NOT move? Also weird is that usually early in a game you know what team showed up, the sharing one or the one that plays mostly 1 or 1 or 1 pass and shoot.

I don't understand how they can be such a different team all the time. Doesn't make sense.

That's common sense. But the trapping style of defense we played that far away from the hoop is a recipe for disaster. Just saying, Blatt gets plenty of blame for how this game went as well.

Painful loss. And as much as I love the Cavs, Golden State looked like the far superior team tonight. Our ISO offense and defensive lapses on nearly every possession (it seemed like half the Warriors' points came from beating Love on the pick and roll, and I don't recall Irving being much better) didn't stand a chance against a team with relentless defense and a wide range of offensive weapons.

Of course, it didn't help that we also couldn't knock down the few open looks we had (even with the ISO offense, the fact that Irving and Love combined for only 11 is pretty staggering, and Mozgov's missed dunks come to mind).

I realize it's only January, but I'm having trouble seeing the Cavs winning a series against these guys. Curry's shot is amazingly quick and accurate, requiring nearly perfect defense by whosever on him. And even beyond Curry, the Warriors have so many reliable shooters. And even if the Cavs can muster the defense to slow down GS, can our offense find some sort of a groove in the face of GS's defensive pressure?

Luckily, the West doesn't really matter until (if we're lucky) the finals. But I agree that tonight's game shows the Cavs have a lot of work to do before then.

Love: "It's going to take a lot of guys looking at themselves in the mirror and it all starts with our leader over there and trickles down."
