Game 39 | Cavaliers vs. Warriors | January 18th, 2016 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Another silver lining: no more posts about how we got em right where we want em, how they are afraid to play us, etc. etc. Everyone finally seems to be on the same page and that's that we are a long ways away and need to change how things are done.

From the little basketball I actually watched Lebron chucked jumpers that had no shot of going in.Mozgov was horrific. Love ...well I really like Kevin but I couldn't believe 0 had 0 points in a blowout with only 5 minutes or so left in the 2nd q. I was sitting in 203 so I thought it might be 8...than I looked carefully and I was like fuck... JR almost successfully used Barnes to break Curry's knee. That would have helped Cavs more than any three he ever hit

If you take 90 through Erie and Mentor be prepared for a ton of lake effect snow. Roads are terrible, 80 is better but that's pretty far out of the way.
Hard to decide which was worse the way or the game. I'll go with the game. I get all kinds of GSW asshole fans on Twitter responding to 8 months old tweets and taunting me as I look at the scoreboard and want to cry. I know it was one game but it can't be that lopsided. I missed for a moment the old NBA with enforcers with no skills who would start fouling hard and a coach would need to get his stars out to avoid injuries and suspensions. I liked that lebron block on barbosa but someone should have put Draymond on his ass in one of the drives. Make them pay for insisting on humiliating the Cavs. When we swept the Celtics they went full asshole mode and injured love and got JR suspension.

For a second I wanted a brawl to break out then it occurs to me that gs would probably beat the tar outta the cavs and injure half our team

This team sorely needed a kick in its complacency. It just got one.

I hope this is the point from which they learn that being lazy and trying to rely solely on pure individual talent (or rather LeBron) won't cut it against teams like the Spurs and Warriors. Those teams have just as much talent but have also put in the hard work of utilizing systems that maximize their assets.

Everyone is talking about a trade; adding this guy or that guy. How about getting the best out of the guys they already have first? Just a thought.

I continue to be amazed at how we let Curry run so free. He should be getting screened hard repeatedly and but on his back a few times a game when he drives. I'm not advocating injurying anybody, but make him feel you. You can't let a 160 pound guy run roughshod over you with no resistance.
They ere big early when I started watching..then I had that feeling they were not going to catch them
I don't want to hear any excuses...Cavs had enough motivation too come out swinging and knocking them around, yet the Warriors played with a chip on their shoulder.
They got into the Cavs mind and took them out of their game.
The team looked intimidated to me.

Having the night to sleep on it, we have to remember it is one game. While it was an embarrassing showing, and we are going to have to work our asses off to get to that level, I think it is possible. We have a very talented team, we just fail to execute our game plan, and when we let other teams push us around we fold. I do think we will have to look at making some type of change, we need to find a way to get Love more involved, and may have to move on from Andy of Moz to get another wing defender in here.

I don't think this is any indication of how this team will play when it matters but it sure is bringing up some red flags as for the mental toughness. Most teams would have relished in this matchup and came out hyped. GS threw the first punch and Cleveland just gave in.

I am not losing faith in this team but last night was difficult to watch. I will admit, I saw more wrong doing on Cleveland's part than right doing on GS. That might be a cop out but Cleveland was playing timid and that was ALL on Cleveland.

i actually feel even worse about it this morning. I don't think it's just "one game" as everyone keeps saying. We sure do make a lot of excuses for this team - funny because we haven't won anything at all, and from the looks of it, we're not going to!

I'm tired of the excuses and the "it's only one game" that we've been hearing since the beginning of the season. I find myself repeating the same garbage. Enough is enough, we've got problems on this team and I haven't liked the way they've played all year except for maybe a game or two.

I second that but the beautiful thing is this current roster is CAPABLE of playing that stellar ball we saw late last season. I see this more of a mental hurdle than a physical one.

Its more than just being mentally weak. Both the offensive and defensive gameplan for this game were god-awful. If I had to give it a grade i’d give it an F. The most frustrating thing though, is once they saw that it wasn’t working, they still stuck to ISO ball and over-helping on defense and continued to get demolished. Whose fault is it for not even attempting to change up the strategy? Its absolutely infuriating, and LeBron, Kyrie, Love, and Blatt should all be embarrassed to let that happen.

That again, at least to me, illustrates some sort of mental hurdle. They were shocked by the quick punch and were playing like at some point the opponent would cool off. Blatt, when the game was already in hand, tried different things that showed some positive results but little too late.

Our game plan was to let Golden State do what they want to do. We held our cards close to our vest. We didn't care what the result of a regular season game was. We did the same thing last year during the regular season. We trapped Curry with Love and let Draymond run the offense 18 feet from the hoop going 4 on 3. We sure didn't do it in the Finals.

Blatt knows this game ultimately means nothing. The only thing that matters is tipping your hand, making it easier for them to plan for us in the Finals, which we didn't do.

Do you really believe this?

Do you really believe this?
Yes. Like I said, we did the same thing in the regular season games against Golden State and then we defended them totally differently in the Finals.

And LeBron never plays hard until around the All Star break. He's still coasting through the season. We'll look like a different team down the stretch just because of the example he'll set and the effort he'll demand when he does. The team is fine, they're just not focused at all right now.
