Not Ashamed to Admit We Were Wrong on...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LeBron James.

Thought he would keep his word this time around.

Oh.. wrong sport. Anyway, I'd definitely say Manziel for me. I was all in on him for sure, really thought he would be something in this league if he just kept his head on straight. He couldn't, thus the downhill path he took.

Probably Gilbert then Coleman would be the obvious next two.. Coleman seriously has talent. Kid just doesn't want it enough, I suppose.

Manziel had little NFL talent

I hate when Manziel supporters do this. They make it sound like everything was all because of his partying and that’s the only thing that held him back from greatness. He also was total dogshit as a QB and it wasn’t just because he was a partier

Ehhhh.

I think the fact that he was an admitted alcoholic and drug user who had no semblance of a work ethic in the film room or on the practice field was a bigger factor in his failure than his pure talent at QB.

He had enough talent to at least stick in the league (not necessarily be a star or even a good starter) without the partying and work ethic issues.

Talent wise he was probably a legit 3rd or 4th round pick. A guy who could certainly be a backup or maybe even a starter with some development.

We don’t disagree, but the Browns fans who thought he was a first round talent who had his career snatched away from him due to personal issues isn’t gonna fly

Yeah he would probably still be bouncing around the league as a backup if not for being a piece of shit. He wouldn’t be an upper echelon starter that justified those Browns fans losing their minds with joy on draft night

Manziel in the first round was always a trash pick. With or without the personal problems

Drew Brees

I have told the story several times on here, but I knew him fairly well. He asked me what I thought of his chances in the NFL were and I said "you will either be a good backup or a bad starter"

So this is assuming Drew Brees is not a bad starter.

And I feel I win this thread because not only was I wrong, but I actually told the player to his face, lol.

What's next, the Couch v. Holcomb debate again? Why not? Same issue of people arguing about players long gone, and the only point is "I was right and you won't admit it!"

Give that shit a rest already.

It's not as if Purdue has a reputation of churning out solid pros (Hermann, Everett, Danielson) to Hall of Fame QB's (Griese, Dawson) or anything ;).

Also I remember wanting the Browns to draft him but my dad said we didn't "need him" in 2001 due to having Timmy on the roster already.

This thread is literally entirely about revisiting old Browns

If you aren't interested in talking about previous Browns draft busts then This probably isn't a thread of interest for you

It's the "admit I was wrong" thread, not the "argue that other people are wrong" thread.

But whatever.

There was a 50 post debate about which coaches are jocks and which are rocket scientists and what that means in today’s NFL in the 2018 NFL Browns regular season thread, the Baker Mayfield thread doubles as the Jared Goff thread, and pretty much every thread for a month on here was the Jabrill Peppers thread, but you want to strictly empose the thread title here even though it was a very natural progression to what the original post was? So can no one reply to anyone in this thread? Only posts stating what you were wrong on and nobody better make another peep

Again, this probably just isn’t the thread for you if you aren’t interested in those discussions

You guys, take this out back.

Nobody on this site has ever been correct all of the time on players. Not even close.

Pics.......or it didn't happen, therefore not counting, hence you wouldn't win. Meaning, we all still have a chance

Good luck finding me being wrong on a player.
