Larry Drew - Cavaliers Acting Head Coach

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd say at least he is not actively harming some of the younger players like I felt Lue was. The defense has been pretty good and will at least make the guys feel like they have a chance to win some games. Lue was making them think they shouldn't be in the NBA.

If Cedi can come back and get on track, I will be very satisfied. If they keep losing close games but show fight I will be really pleased. I'd like for them to be looking like they know what they are doing by the end of the year.

So the team is losing, but they are playing defense, which is the only way they win. TT being your leading scorer means you will struggle to break 100..

I think drew has figured that much out..

Brad Stevens available soon?

I still don't feel like we run any plays, the games we win or don't lose by 30 either some of our guys are just really hot or the other team plays ridiculously bad like the Hornets did. Seem our plays include running a couple pick and rolls, swing the ball up top a few times, then Hood, Clarkson or Sexton go 1v1 and take a midrange shot

Drew definitely can run some more plans but I think there is some method to just let Sexton feel out and try to use his instincts. When a team is winning, it hard for players to get the reps just to use their instincts to get a basket. A system only takes a team so far and at a point it's who can make a basket when plays break down. This kind of method should also help Cedi develop.

Hood and Crowder are prime examples of guys that are system players and seem to not know what to do when the play isn't there. Hood seems like a guy who needs a system to dictate his shot selection and play his best.

On the flip side though you have Clarkson who seems to play purely on his instincts and has no clue where his best shots are. His shot chart is literally all over the map. I don't think Clarkson has had structure during his NBA career and it shows.

Hopefully as the season moves on Drew will install more plays and feather the line between giving the players who need the freedom to build their NBA instincts and vision, and the players that need structure to really hone in their game.

You’re probably starting to feel a little satisfied!

Sexton is stacking good games. Cedi likely played his two best of the season. Hood showed up and even TT is looking like a damn NBA player.

Don’t know if any of this will last, but it’s time to give Drew a little head nod.

Pretty good team defense tonight. Apparently Lomgabardi just needed better talent for his scheme to work.:chuckle:

I hear Joe Pesci is going to play him when the movie comes out.

We all know Lues dumb ass would’ve been 0-17 right now, beating a 10-0 home team is impressive, Credit to Drew the team is undeniably playing better team basketball under him.
